Looking to learn a wide variety of skills and wondered if anyone had any advice on what might be a good remap

"Wide variety" meaning what?

Planning to heavily train any leadership or trading skills? No? Then no points to Charisma.
T2 Ship Command skills? No? Can probably skip Willpower.
Going into industry and need the requisite skills? Not really? Probably safe to ignore Memory.

Usually, if you want to go back and forth between combat and support skills, a 50/50 split between Intelligence and Perception is pretty safe. It will also make Navigation skills your fastest training skills.

Is this sig EVE related?

I recommend a general mapping:

* 23 Intelligence
* 21 Perception
* 21 Memory
* 17 Willpower
* 17 Charisma

You will train nearly everything over 2k / hour with +4 implants, and you don't have to commit yourself to a training plan right away. Once you have all the core skills you could choose to switch to per > will to train more ships and weapons.

Why not throw the skills into EveMon and have it suggest the optimal attribute distribution? This will provide you with the optimal skill distribution.

Dump CHA. Distribute your points evenly between the other four attributes.

If you distribute all points between perc and int you'll have a pretty nice time taking turns training perc/will and int/mem skills --- in addition to navigation skills.

This covers:
Spaceship command (t1 ships), missiles, guns, engineering, electronics, mechanic, science, navigation and subsystems ... pretty much everything you "need" except drones with some science thrown into the mix for odd skills like cyber, thermo, scan skills and such ...

my point being that points in primary attributes are ALWAYS better than points in secondary attributes

Choose one:

Remap around your skills: As in put the entire list of skills you want to train before next remap in evemon and have it tell you best remap. (( Have fun while still getting decent sp ))

Skill around your remap: Max one attribue and put the left overs in the secondary and train only things that use them and have the same primary. (( Most sp per hour period, will pay off big after about 1 1/2 years. ))

Every other option is just wasting sp.
If you like to be lazy and waste sp use the suggestions posted above for general remapping.

I think I am relectant to rely on EVEmon because I don't really know what I want to do with the charecter and this could change several times in a year.

I'm sure EVEmon gives good results if you know the proportions of the diffrent skillsets you will persue, I frankly don't know what will interest me from one month to the next, so was looking for something that would 'cover all my bases' as it where.

Thanks for the advice though guys

If you are wondering what 24i 24p 17m 17w 17c looks like with +4 implants [compared to the mapping I suggested above]:

int > per: 2520 Navigation [faster, was 2370]
per > int: 2520
int > cha: 2310
int > mem: 2310 Electronics, Engineering, Mechanic, Planet Management, Science [slower, was 2370]
int > wil: 2310
per > cha: 2310
per > mem: 2310
per > wil: 2310 Gunnery, Missiles, Spaceship Command [faster, was 2130]
cha > int: 2100 Planet Management [faster, was 2070]
cha > per: 2100
mem > int: 2100 Industry [slower, was 2310]
mem > per: 2100 Drones [slower, was 2250]
wil > int: 2100
wil > per: 2100 Few oddball ships [faster, was 2010]
cha > mem: 1890 Trade [slower, was 2010]
cha > wil: 1890 Leadership [no change]
mem > cha: 1890 Corporation Management [slower, was 2130]
mem > wil: 1890
wil > cha: 1890 Trade [no change]
wil > mem: 1890

I still recommend the previous mapping I posted though, as I think it is more beneficial to rookies (it is also what I use on some my alts). This mapping is probably better for a more established character, or if you plan a more combat focused career.

First of all, get a jump clone and stick +4 attribute implants in there (once you're done with Cybernetics IV; if you're offline for a longer period, jump to this clone first so you'll train faster while offline and not in danger of being podded).

For your puposes, I think the post above yours sums it up best; ditch all points from CHA, WIL and MEM into INT and PER equally. This will let you do any ship/gun/support related skills the fastest. Although you might want to consider to get some drone skills up to T2 lights and mediums.

ya, I will have Cybernetics IV in just a couple of days and I plan to get some +4's then. Thanks for the advice and looking.

Total generalist remaps are a bad idea. A generalist remap for a specific profession works a lot better. For example for combat it's best to take all point out of everything else and distribute them evenly between intelligence and perception. That covers pretty much everything you'll train as a combat pilot. The only exception I can think of is drones, which have memory as primary.
