To make some break from L4 mission grinding I've yesterday rerun the Sis' Epic Arc. Nothing special here, buffer shield tanked Comet handled it hands down. However in the Minmatar space part there was a recon mission where upon warping into I've met a bunch of frigs and (b)cruisers, a dozen of fat battleships...

And a Nidhoggur.

Battleships as I mentioned were fat, more than 1 mil bounty each, which I guess would make at least 15 mil bounty for cleaning sub caps, plus loot. What makes me wonder is this Nid. Obviously I hadn't attack him with my frig. ;) But I wonder whether it's worth taking the challenge with L4 gear. And it's going to be some: I already discovered this guy is neuting (so maybe L5 setup or logi?), maybe has other tricks up his sleeve. On the other hand has no bounty thus I'm not sure if killing him earns anything except bragging rights.

Anyone did it already?

I should have done my homework before posting. :)

Thanks.

Can you salvage the carrier wreck? I managed to salvage a carrier wreck during the pre-incursion sansja events. It netted me 100 fried interface circuits. Not a great haul but had it been alloyed trit bars or armored plates.... Drool!

I think attacking and destroying the Nidhoggur in that mission might incur a negative Faction standing hit. It's not a Pirate like the other ships. It still belongs to the Minmatar Faction.

NPC carriers aren't anything special. They are pretty common in lvl5 missions. Loot is typically the highest tier tag (4.5M isk npc buy order), some metal scraps and frequently 100 marines or other useless but interesting items. They take about 5 minutes to kill with a sieged revelation at medium range (~5k dps). You can kill one with a normal pve BS but it will take you a long time to do so.

I advise against doing it unless you really are that bored or it's a mission objective. I will confess dragging around a carrier wreck with a noctis is pretty funny looking though.

Fireworks and snowballs are great, but what I really want is a corpse launcher.

The guristas lvl3 epic arc includes a suicide mission against a caldari carrier. In that one tho, you're required to kill the carrier for mission completion.
The carrier wreck drops a decent tag, pretty-much-valueless other stuff (like a gazillion marines), and the salvage has been dire each time I've salvaged it.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Guys, I'm talking about SOE Arc. Y'know, this level 1 for noobs who just learned how to manage frigates. And all missions are in hisec so no cavalry on dreads of any kind. And again, this is recon mission, nobody is expected to kill anything there. Actually I believe it's meant to intimidate young ones. ;)

Or kill off the idiots decide to agress them.

From what I read though, I thought you can agro the sub caps and simply leave the carrier alone and then agress the carrier when there's nothing left. Did that change at all?

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

That's my understanging from what I've read. Next window will be open in early summer so if I feel bored enough then I think I'll give it a crack.

I killed all subcaps and then the carrier and i recall i got 5 metal scraps and that was about it.

Nothing of value at all, not even worth killing it. If i recall the mission you dont even need to kill the subcaps.

Oh, and welcome to HEK ;)
