best caldari ship for l4 security missions

ive got 500 mil to spend including fit

i thought i will be fine doing l4s in drake since ive seen so many videos on youtube with it but ppl say it will actually take longer than flying a BS

so my question is whats the best caldari ship for l4s ? is it raven, tengu or what ? im skilling toward missiles and want to keep it that way, drake seemed a perfect ship.

raven has got weird setup. 8 high slots but only 6 launcher hardpoints and 4 turret. so using 6 launchers and 2 turrets seems weird. navy issue looks better cuz it has got 7 launcher hardpoints but it costs 350 mil and i dno if i will afford to fit it then.

Tengu by a landslide, although you're going to be hard pressed to put one together on that budget.

nevermind the tengu, it takes too long to learn it.

It's worth the investment and you can get by on a drake until you're ready for it. Or you could train a raven and then a golem like I did and not get much use out of either.

hmm this will probably be a stupid question but how come tengu or any other ship with less than 7 launchers can be better than drake ? i mean thats less dps

have you tried a drake yet?
i use mine for lvl4s and iv had no problems thus far, and only lost one due to stupidly agroing an entire room solo.
use it to its strengths, dont fly stupid, and it will serve you well.

alternatively tengu, and nighthawk.

as for how a ship with 6 launchers can have more dps than one with 7..... Rate of Fire. lvl 5 skills on nighthawk gives you 25% bonus to RoF add to that RoF mods, and hardwires. you can get sub 5sec reload on T2 heavy launchers. even faster reload on Heavy Assault Missle Launchers.

Most of the time, its due to way better bonuses such as ROF coupled with vastly superior tank, be it due to better regen or amazing resists. Tengus can have better damage bonuses, though I'm not too sure since im mainly an amarrian char. I do use the nighthawk a lot, which does a lot better dps, due to having more lowslots (5 vs 4) and much higher resists.

Caldari Navy Scorpion.

Due to the fact it has so many mid slots you can use the rigs for Rigors.

It's slightly cheaper than the CNR. and it looks cooler :)

Tengu gets a double DPS bonus (kinetic dmg and RoF). It winds up being far more DPS than a similarly fit Drake.

If you fly your Drake in L3s until you have the skills to fly t2 HMs and a Tengu, the isk will have taken care of itself.

EDIT: Or Train Turrets and aim for a Mach.

Nighthawk.

It's the only ship that fits into the 500m budget that's better than a Drake, and no the Raven's not better than a drake.
