Do lvl4 Lowsec / Nullsec Distribution / Courier missions pay out higher ISK / LP comparative to the Highsec missions? Are the Distribution missions in these Lowsec systems a worthwhile venture?

Yep.
Maybe.

They do pay more, but not a huge amount more.
Whether it's worth it will depend on what you want to achieve and how you view in-game value.

IMO those courier missions are not good for much except getting to storylines for a toon without any PvE-combat skills, and thereby boosting your faction standings. If the toon has decent PvE-combat skills then my experience is that it's quicker to complete a security mission, of a given level, than most courier missions of same level ... and combat missions worth heaps more than their courier counterparts.
However, courier missions (in hisec anyways) can be run more-AFK than encounter missions or can be run quietly in the background while you're multiboxing on something else.

p.s. Some nullsec courier storylines are pretty demanding if you're using conventional ships! 8 - 12 nullsec jumps with a load too large for a single blockade runner trip.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
