Raven fit questions

I have 2 stupid questions for my fit.

While playing with my fit in EFT, I noticed that when I use a DCII instead of a PDSII I gain about 16000 effective hp. Not sure exactly what is effective hp but I think it would be a good thing? More resist, less cap, but don't need to run the booster as often as I normally would.

Second question: I'm using the extron as a target painter. I noticed this painter have the same specs as the T2 version but with less fitting requirement. I feel like its too good to be true, I'm I missing something? lol

Thanks in advance: Here's my fit, feel free to give me suggestions as I'm fairely new in the PVE world.

DC is great for hull tanking. You are not hull tanking, you don't need it.

True a DC is great for hull, Though if you are unsure of your Raven a DC will give you that little extra life and you fine tune your ship and get use to it.

The problem with this aproach is that in Level 1 missions you should have learned that when you fly shield tank, when you start running out of shield and start taking damage to the armor, you should be warping out. Not aligning to warp, but actually warping out.

But the DC gives resist bonuses to the shield and armor too, not just hull?

You get about 3 or 4 percent to shield resistance. And shield is your tank, not armor, not hull. Yes, you get some more resistance to armor, but honestly I have not looked how much because my Ravens and Navy Ravens don't fly armor tanks so it does not matter to me.

My main point is that shield is your tank, armor is buffer to let you warp out. You should never even allow damage to come anywhere close to your hull. Get it? You are not supposed to hull tank when you are shield tanking.

I got two Navy Ravens that I fly all the time. One has passive shield resists and shield booster, in the low I have 3x bcu and 2x pds. Second one has active shield resists and shield booster, in the low it has 3x bcu and 1x cpu upgrade and 1x pds.

I, generally, overtank my mission ships to begin with, then remove tank mods and replace them with dps mods as needed. I am not EFT warrior.

When active tanking, I suggest using Cap Flux coils over PDS because you don't need the extra Shield HP.

As for the DCII, the extra resists aren't stacking penalized, so you do get a nice little bonus. If you're worried about your fit, toss one on in place of a BCU while you get the hang of managing your cap.

A cheap-ish Gistii X-L Shield Booster is a worthwhile purchase, since you can drop in a 4th BCU (factioning those will also be useful).

Finally, hop into a CNR ASAP (dey be cheap nao), since that gives you extra dps without providing any extra isk to drop for a ganker.
