Luxury Skill book that increases skill queue time

Hi guys.. me and a friend were talking about this last night.

I thought it would be a good idea if there was a skill-book introduced, that when learnt, increased the duration of your queue time.

Level I - 1 Day increase
Level II - 2 Day increase
Level III - 3 Day increase
Level IV - 4 Day increase
Level V - 5 Day increase

At level 5 the total queue time would be 5 days + the original one, so 6 days.

As we all know.. when you start progressing through the game skills can take a lot more time than 6 days to train. This would be more of a "luxury" skill that would benefit newbies who could fit more into the queue.

The training time for this could be something like x30, level I might take 2 days to level or something.

Then newbies would have to choose between learning their real skills or this luxury one which has more benefits in the long term. This skill wouldn't be restricted to rookies but I see them having more use out of it.

This skill wouldn't bring in any in-game advantages.. just merely the chance to queue up more skills. Which could allow you to have more leverage if you were away for a week or so.

Interesting concept, but im not sure i think its practical. With a 24h queue most of the noob stuff is handled, besides its better they log on more often at lower levels anyhow so they can learn how to play and what all the skills do and such. And making the skill expensive defeats the purpose you laid out, if its so expensive only established players can afford it, then noobs wont be using it at all. In that case this only facilitates a flood of alts into the game.

Personally, 24h is alot for new players. Back when i first signed on, there was no queue. I had to spend hours sitting at my desk just switching skills out, and wake up every 30 minutes at night for days just so i wouldnt lose training time. 24 hours at least lets you sleep and poo once in a while :P

Im not sure you were around when you had to get up at 2am toy change a skill, or turn off the skill done in 3 hrs and set one for 1 day while you sleep or work. But just incase you weren't here for that fun, life used to be hell. Now they baby sit your ass the whole way. 1 day training Que is plenty. If you cant be asked to log on within a week dont worry, theres plenty of skills that take a month to train.

The less stuff we let ccp tinker with the better.

This idea used to be a problem it was fixed, begging for a week now maybe next year ask for a month que?

You're contradicting yourself a lot. You say that it would be good for newbies because they could fit more into it, but then you say make it take days to train a single level and be extremely expensive.

The system is working extremely well as-intended, there's no need to change it at all. /thread

Yeah we came to the same conclusion too I just wanted to see what other people thought.

If new players were the only ones to benefit then yes the price would be lower but as someone else said its better they log on more anyway.

Still though, the intended design isn't to be a required skill, just a luxury skill which allows you more leverage with your queue time if you were away for a weekend or so.
