I wanted to be a rocketman and now I'm sad; reference Elton John...

I saw the Worm and being a sucker for the skull & bunny ears logo from Halo days I was in. Spent 4 days getting Rocket Specialization 3, hit the airwaves and boom - bleh. Took me a couple of minutes to beat two ships like me in a belt at point blank range.

Anyway, was hoping for some more bang. And that my Eris interdictor would have a little more umph here soon. Oh well.

Did you have a full drone bay, and were you using the right kind of rockets?

If it didn't have a full drone bay you are doing it so very, very VERY wrong.

Yes, the Worm and Eris are worthless ships, this is not news.
(But you are aware the Worm is a droneboat, right? The missiles are a secondary weapon.)

If you want a rocket ship that doesn't suck, look into the Hawk and Vengeance.

For this exercise I only used rockets. The best I could think to buy out of Jita. For drones I had loaded two 25s instead of some 10s; but I get drones. I was hoping for some rocket fireworks!

And, sir! The Eris does not sux. In fact I want it to be my main fly around. It looks cool (maybe only 2nd/3rd to the Amarr command ship and the Corvette looking Hyperion). That and I got a Widow for one day and it only has launcher hardpoints. Again, was hoping rockets would do. But guess not.

get a hawk if you want rockets, ishkur if you want drone.

I'm guessing you mean heavies instead of mediums which are both horible ideas on a worm.

It uses 5 light drones with 5 backup drones.

Seems like a big troll thread if you had skills/isk for a worm but had no idea on how to fit it.

Worm is the best balanced frigate size ship in the game.

Wasn't the idea of the Worm stay as far away as possible and let your drones do the work.

Most fittings I've seen use light missiles for range

Can fit a nice up close buffer, fly it like a rocket Ishkur, though tthe Ishkur wins every time.

Really?

You don't cross that much fleet Sabres, solo sabres, cloacky sabres do you? -well it's the same than T1 with ton crap more of resists and can still use 7x150mm Autocanons to smash your Eris before you can align/warp out.
To give you the perfect example (imho) Eris is to Sabre what Thorax is to Cynabal: another km where you swap for egular ammo because faction/T2 is too expensive for that.

After the recent AF changes, Hawk is definitely a better rocketboat, all the gurista ships do poor dps with their missiles unfortunately, to balance out having the drones
