Off only because my laptop is garbage for games. If/when I get a better computer I'll probably turn it back on.

Not to beat a dead horse with nine millimeter bullets and a rusty axe, but you're not playing Asteroids.

Off, to speed up my docking times.

Off. On the laptop because I have to, on the desktop because there is nothing remotely useful/interesting in the CQ.

Here's why it's off, horribly optimized and proven so. You risk damage to your computer running it, this is fact over the heaping loads of fried hardware complaints.

People have it initially disabled to avoid loading it because they dock for quick jobs, reloading, courier runs etc. It is not very convenient, and should remain separate from the old hangar, enterable via neocom similar to the undock button.

It needs some serious work and improvements, it's not helpful or useful of a feature to the core game right now and is a bit too early for its time. People may actually use it more when environments roll out and when you can choose to enter it via Hangar.

I've had it switched off since about..0h ermm 30 seconds after it was released!

Mainly because:

1: I run multiple clients.
2: I have a cooker if I want to fry eggs.
3: Not the EVE I signed up for all these years.

ON

I have it on for both desktop and laptop Mac. Low quality characters and physically modeled hair and clothing is off. Medium texture for CQ and high on all other graphics settings. On a two year old Mac laptop. That means it's converting all those DX calls to OpenGL so the frame rate is low but not annoyingly so. Heat and fan noise seem to have dropped down to normal levels since the initial Incarna release. On the desktop I've used two clients at once but then responsiveness does get annoying if either are in CQ.

I'm normally using my trade and production pilot and he spends a lot of time sitting on the couch, watching TV, while monitoring his trade orders. I like the CQ view over spreadsheets in stations.

For those that are complaining of excess heat in CQ I'm curious:

1. Low or high quality characters?
2. Physically simulated cloth and hair?
3. CQ texture quality level?

It seems like the physical simulation is the real performance killer on Mac. With Incarna 1.0 I also had to run with low shaders but that doesn't seem to be a problem for me anymore.

max settings. Runs fine. However I hate the way it makes my char look, so it's off

Off.

1. Its crap
2. Theres nothing to do in it.
3. Its dull to look at, and not even 'dull' in an asthetically correct way.
4. I dont like long loading screens in a game that had none before.
5. My char looks like hes got the craps when hes walking around.
6. My char apparently has head lice and a neck problem. Scratch, stretch, scratch, stretch, scratch etc.
7. Sitting on the couch made my char stand on it and become unable to navigate his way off.
8. Theres no way to walk to the car park in case of a fire, locked door.
9. Room service sucks.

on, i like it. full details and i never had any probs with loading times. just needs a bit more functionality like custom videos on the screen or inviting friends/corpmates into your own CQ

obviously some fis stuff needs fixing first, but CQ and station environment should get some love later on again too ^^

Off. Takes too ******* long to load, and I don't like the idea of my GPU getting melted for graphics 5 years old.

Off on both clients. It really wasn't that bad when I had it on, aside from the stupid load times, but there was nothing compelling me to keep it on. Load times are important since I'm in and out of the station.

Since it's been asked: Core2 Duo E8400 + 4gb RAM + Radeon 4650. At no point did I feel that my hardware was in danger, even with the stock CPU cooler, although the case is well ventilated.

Leaves only the fresh scent of pine.

I need to add, if my char's trudge around at the same pace they currently do when the station interior is finally in game, then I won't be enabling it as the long walk back to my quarters from the bar (even sober) will be a ridiculously tedious affair. Shocked Thats assuming bars will be in the 'station interior' patch and not left for later 'iteration'. Lol

Also, the first person to type '/dance' into local and express dissapointment at the lack of action on his/her char's part will be ganked the minute they undock. Big smile

Off. My laptop runs EVE on full settings fine but nearly catches fire when I load CQ.
