Can't decide on mach or vindicator

First off, not sure if this is the right section of the forums, second, did not see a search come up, but did try to see if a thread already existed.

I'm primarly gallente/caldari trained and was looking at getting into incursions. Having Cal BS V and Gal BS V, rattlesnake would be best skill wise, but those will rarely get into fleets. So my next thought was, well it's just 40 day skilling and I'm in the vindi with bs V on both sides, or spend 100 days (minnie bs V and t2 arty) and get a mach.

I personally own a mach on another char and thought a vindi would be nice, but I've been told it can still be hard to get into fleets with the vindi. What are your thoughts on this?

Also, would a lse or ab be better on vindi if running hq's? I know Valhalla require ab, but dropping the lse would make me drop below 100k eff hp and otherwise I'd have to drop the tracking enhancer and lose a bit of range on the blasters.

Anyways, thoughts and opinions would be nice.

Vindi should only and always be a PvP ship. Jesus kills a baby each time someone takes a Vindi out to PvE, it's true. That is all.

Lies, Vindicators are good at Incursions, just don't make it an unholy shield tanked Vindicator

Lies, shield tankers vindicators deliver fantastic dps!

@OP - as you can see, opinions are divided :P. It's just a shame with that vindicator and that awful range.

Kill a baby, use a vindincur / incurvindi! I do it, so should you!

I have little trouble getting into armor fleets but wouldnt know about shield fleets. If you need to drop a TE for an AB then do it. Better to survive and be a little bit less effective against small ships instead of killing small ships well and dying because your buffer was too low.

For Incursions, with the group I fly with, Vindis are quite liked. Everybody and their mother flies a Mach, boring.

Vindi's really help with competition. Won numerous NCO's against Legion fleets because of a couple of Vindi's. Not so great on OTA's mind you :P

Plus, the Vindicator has other purposes, like being downright sexy. Completely awesome. Extremely high DPS. Can fit massive buffer tank if you wanted to PVP in it. Did I mention it's awesome?

Edit: And if it requires you to sacrifice a baby or two just to fly it; do it. Sacrifice a whole nursery.

Heh, you get full aggro on OTA's all the time aswell? Once got into 50% armor with a full double tama spawn and the bs still alive, Damned logi's didnt pay attention P I was starting to break a sweat at that moment Lol

Aha! Damn inattentive logis. Luckily my fleet of friends all have 1 Shield Xfer and 1 Cap Xfer incase of logi DC's. I'd advise it to anyone else, very helpful. With decent logi pilots (and a lot of OTA spawns), I like to go DDD in a Nightmare heavy fleet.

Also @ OP: Did you say 100 days for T2 guns on Mach + BS5, and only 40 days for BS5 on Vindi? Well. Choice seems obvious imo :P
