I suggest doing some research and finding your own opportunities, rather than asking other traders how they make their isk.

It's really easy, buy high, sell low, start mining

Would you shut up with that dumb joke, already? It was never, ever funny to begin with.

101 for the new investor who does not want to get burned:

1) Search for "collateralized loans / bonds".

2) Invest in these.

3) At the same time read this forum for some weeks to learn who is who and what / how they deal and how "investee evolution" goes on:

a) Path of honest investee

Start small => grow bonds a bit => keep growing them and possibly create reports and such.

b) Path of the scammer

Start small / medium => farm 2-3 bonds that increase a lot in size => scam.

c) Path of the intelligent scammer

Start small => farm 7-8 bonds and slowly gain acceptance => create a "4U" big bond => scam.

Right here on Market Discussion!

Look at the first page you'll find "collateralized loan XXB YY%", those who post collateral are very eager to show everyone they do so, since it attract investors like magnets.

You may also join the SCC-Lounge chat in game, where traders and trolls alike spend their days. Every some days there's someone who needs a quick loan or something and is ready to post collateral.

The bond market is a decent passive income if you do your homework. Frankly, I recommend a more active approach. Keep as much of your NAV turning over as possible. If you do most of the work yourself, you are going to concentrate your profits. Bonds are mainly good for leftover ISK that you can't be bothered to trade with. They tie up a lot of ISK for long periods with significantly lower returns than active trading/manufacturing(maybe).

Once you get a good stake and you are off blowing up rifters for fun instead of trading, then you should look at bonds.

I invest in bonds from time to time because I spend more time on the forums than logged in now, and passive income works much better.
