Installed a patch the other day, everything seemed fine, opened up laptop next day installed same patch, installer crashed during installation, was unable to complete. Repair could not fix it, so I had to reinstall - everything worked fine. Started up laptop today [no new patches] and EVE immediately crashes on the splash screen [crashes after about 1/2 second, no warnings, no errors, just disappears]. Can't be run as admin, can't be missing ANY files, and repair won't fix it. I really don't want to reinstall EVE for 8 hours every time I want to play it, that kinda gimps the playing experience. Any help appreciated.

uhm can you post down a bit more details on the pc? like which brand and version of videocard and such please?

and are you using an nvidia or ATI graphics card?

if you are using nvidia's latest beta drivers, go back to beta version 290.53, the latest beta drivers do not work with EVE yet.

A ghetto trick I have found for it is to alt + tab during that split second right after the splash screen disappears and the main screen tries to appear. Wait a few seconds or for the music to play, tab back, profit. Just a possible work around for the time being.

eve is now giving:

verification failed crc:67b1a67, expected:e190e294

This is now a regular occurence happening at each patch.

AMD Video card:
APU 34xx series, everything is up to date, that's not an issue.

Does the repair tool report any errors when you run it as Administrator?
