not sure how this can be of help to you , but i srsly doubt that 5 of my fighters dealt more damage to the rats than tengu . I think its last hit in my opinion.

You need to be on grid to receive bounty or sec status.....

actually i wasnt on grid. But i did get my sec status increase. How ever as i wrote i didnt get isk. Cant explain it i just know it. I was afk for 2 hours and when i returned i was short for 2 firbolgs and increased my sec status from -8 to -6.5. With no isk from bounties.

Idk if I actually need to point this out. But grinding sec status in LS and then going right back into a fight is about pointless. The sec status gains in LS are so small that one ship kill will outweigh hours of ratting in LS...

What was the point of this post? Yes kills hit status a lot harder, than rat kills are. So, you stop killing players for a bit :o/

I've petitioned a similar issue where I wasn't getting any increase to my sec status when a GM pointed out that I can only get a standing raise from the highest rat every 15 mins. That was almost few years ago. Of course, 2 years is enough time for CCP to make changes to it.

Yeah, this is how it USED to work before Crucible. We'd go out and rat together and we'd all get sec status boost for the kill and shared bounty. You'd get the increase from the largest rat type per roughly every 15mins or so, per system.

Once Crucible rolled, this stopped. Only one person from the rat engagement fleet would get the security status boost, even though all of them contributed in the kill. :(

It also affects Incursions. They used to be a good way of improving sec status. Run OTAs and you'd get a 0.2% sec status bonus to every player in the fleet who was aggressing every 15mins. Now, it's really hit and miss.

Is this as designed? It sounds like fall out from the sec status gaining change for missions in Crucible. Was it intended or fallout?

All I know is that it used to be a ball ache to get your sec status back up. Now it's anti social ball ache :/

What?.....ummm pods are the only thing that causes a big security hit. A simple ship kill can be cleaned up with a few BS belt rats especially if you mix mission rats in with them. Hell, sometimes you can use the mission you ganked a guy in to wash the ss hit for ganking him.

To the OP: The way I understand it this was considered a bug and was fixed. The killing blow is what counts for sec gain from what I can tell.

There's no question of the double standard though, as if you aggress a player ship in low sec but somebody else delivers the final blow before that player successfully session changes, you'll get swatted with a ship kill sec status penalty even if you weren't in system anymore at the time of death.

I suppose this is probably "working as intended."

Still, it seems to me like CCP has sent its playerbase a pretty well-mixed signal about what actually can and cannot have an impact on security status. "Fixing" this "exploit" probably didn't "help" much...

There are no patch notes or any dev responses I found indicating this was a bug and "fixed". a GM I petitioned about it also told me to file a bug report, indicating that it is not "functioning as intended".

People with no clue about game mechanics plox stop posting about 15 minute increments between sec gains. this is about multiple players on a single rat not all getting sec gains for said rat. A response from Devs would be appreciated.

I've had a bug report in on this for over 2 months now and there has been no response.

No Devs have tried to inquire on this issue - and the only response I have received is through a petition that I should file a bug report.

So, seriously? Nothing on this?

My Sec status was 'stuck' for like 3 days despite shooting the correct npc's in the correct missions.. Anyways, I filed a petition and this is what i got back:

Quote:
1. Doing missions is not a reliable way to raise security standing. Some missions do not raise or lower your standing when you destroy the NPCs, regardless of NPC types inside. This includes the World's Collide mission.

2. It is recommended that you hunt belt rats for a more reliable security rating increase (missions are meant for faction standings, belt rats for security rating).

3. Standings are awarded every 15 minutes for the highest ranking entity that you destroy within that time. There is currently an issue on Tranquility where if you destroy a large collidable structure in the mission site, it may result in you getting no standings for those 15 minutes.

4. If you are killing NPCs with other players, ONLY the player who laid the final blow will get the standing. So if you never lay the final blow on any rats, you won't get any standing for those 15 minutes. It does not work like bounty rewards, where it's split between players.

Let me know if you have any further questions on this issue.

So the final blow on the NPC's is the relevent part here.
Hope that helps although not sure if it answers the question 100%

Well, it's a more official answer than what I received. I received a report to petition for a bug report.

This has NOT worked like this for years. So, this was either a ninja fix, or there's some misunderstanding in what the expectation is.

If it IS this way, then CCP needs to fix security status raising. Punishing your players for playing the game is not fun. I don't mind security status loss, but making it as annoyingly painful a process as possible and making it a "solo" activity despite it having been a team opportunity is a punishment, not a game feature.
