client not starting anymore

I had one of the 'usual' freezes, force quit was only option. Since then, I can't get the client to start anymore at all. The little crucible window appears, but after that nothing anymore. Client runs as far as I can see in activity monitor, but I can't do anything to even get esc menu, login, etc. since there's no grafics there at all, just my desktop.

Anybody got an idea? And don't say 'buy a PC', I had that one already....

Maybe uninstall and install again. might take awhile but at-least then you will know if it's client based not mac based. are you running from a pc emu or mac client?

the Preference folder should be at /user/library/application support . I had the same problem about client not starting and re-installing did the trick, though I think that deleting the Prefs folder should help too. Not sure about that, but you can give it a try.

deleted prefs folder, didn't work
reinstalled client, didn't work
deleted prefs folder again, then the client worked again

after 10 minutes ingame, client hangs again, force quit only option and guess what: same thing, client doesn't start anymore. this is simply ridiculous. at the rate the client was hanging before, i could reinstall it every 10-20 minutes Twisted

Mine is still running fine, have not had a crash in over a week (except when I tested high graphics. That crashed every time I docked.)

So maybe other stuff is interfering with eve. The eve client is very delicate and easily crashed. And at the same time its a clumsy oaf that blunders all through memory.

Try rebooting the computer, then shutting down as many other applications as you can. All the things you got to auto-start on re-boot, everything.

Also running disk utility never hurts.
