The Pally can be a decent long range sniper for small scale PvP. That's about it. Under no circumstance would I feel greta brawling with a Pally but as a long range hard hitting sniper it's ok...

My buddy started with a T2 Pulse fit then went to T2 Tachyons. And damn did those hurt.

Yes, it hurts long range. but when all is said and done. I'de rather be in a sniping tachyon/mega beam apoc. Cheaper and won't go ballistic if I lose it compared to a Pally. But to answer the question a sniping pally is a feasible marauder for PvP. For god's sake don't take it into a fleet bs slug fest though.

well of course you wouldnt use it for a battleship slug fest. I personally love the Shield Apoc for slug fests.

if these ships hasd the same senor strength as a tier 2 bs it would be a bit op. even tho if u fit a vindi up for rep with the right mods if works a hell of alot better the the kronos as it has all the same bonuses. with the rep, dmg and tracking bonus i can see how the can be an issue on the balance front.
you would end up with a ship that tanks, ganks and has utility high slots for use in combat. sure neuts will **** it in the ass with no lube, but if spells a ship thats only killed by 1) neuts and 2) over whelming numbers. the **** senor strength is there to counter that makin it more balanced for combat.

however it also makes them useless in combat as they made ships like the mach and vindi at the same price but with better over all use with stronger senor strength and same dmg/better dmg output.
i wanted to fly the kronos but its cruiser like sensor strength really put me off for all the training time needed to fly the damn ship. a more reasonable sensor strength would be an 18 or 19 like the pest. u can be jammed but not to the point of "**** this ship" then go and buy a vindi for the same amount of isk u would throw into a kronos.

black ops are more useful and and they are is a taxi service. i hope ccp looks into a buff for these ships as well as changeing around some of the bonuses they get. as they are now, they are for the most part the same ( save for the golem as it uses missles ).

They work well in twos and threes. 3 Kronos jerking cap transfers with triple dedspace reps was a sight to behold.

Going solo, I'd feel rather uncomfortable with a marauder. But as a part of a small gang, I'd say it would be perfect.

The Gaming MoD - retro to modern, console to MMO, I blog about it if it's a game and I'm interested in it. Yes, I play games other than Eve and I don't care if you think I'm wrong.
