Skill Backup Copy

Did you make the horrible mistake of dying with a clone below your skill point amount?

Did you forget to upgrade your clone after dying, and got killed again in a base model?

Now, at a cost equal to 10x the clone you should have been using, you can access the Emergency Backup Copy, held in reserve by Concord.

Once paid, after the next DT, your character will have restored to them the skill points lost after the most recent death where skill points had been lost to you.

If you have lost skill points more than once, only the most recent lost points will be on record for retrieval, as it will have overwritten the previous set.

Nope! Sounds like you got podded like an idiot without an updated clone - whoops, bet you won't make that mistake again!

Not supported. Actions have consequences that sometimes even a rich wallet cant fix. Deal with it and learn from your ****-ups.

Always update your clone when you wake up in the station. Always. Problem solved. /thread

Not needed. Dont want in. Let the stupid people pay for their stupidity.

CCP really please dont use Upgraded, Limited, Experimental and Prototype in item names. It sounds like the item is actually worse than basic meta 1 item. Use Calibrated, Enhanced, Optimized and Upgraded. Its really easy to understand that the item is better than meta 1 and its also in alphabetic order.

Imo i think they should remove clones all together, or make it so you always loose a certain ammount, and even more if you don't have a fully updated clone when you die. Something like 100k sp everytime you are poded.

But there would be too many whiners ofc

LOL, no, this has not actually happened to me.

(knock wood I don't jinx myself saying that now)

I actually suggest ideas that are not vested in pure self interest.

I am thinking people would be quicker to jump into fights if they thought they had a fallback in case they messed up, even if it was a cost prohibitive one.

Honestly, I'm not seeing how clicking the button to update your clone is keeping people from jumping into fights. And if they're flying with an outdated clone on purpose, than they're idiots anyways. It's really not difficult or time consuming to update your clone (and if you're running EVEMon, as most people are, it will frequently notify you if you need to update your clone even if you do forget).

I agree with you. People should already be doing this on their own.

That being said, if the perception of a safety net like this exists, it could shift attitudes to being more risk taking. People forget they are playing a game sometimes, and avoid risks due to comfort levels like this.
