Another dreaded skill queue idea

I was running a download manager last night and had a thought.

When running the training queue, we get 1 skill point per second. How about allowing a 2nd skill to run at the same time and alternate the skill point! Meaning 1 skill point to this skill then the next skill point to the other skill and back and forth and back and forth, etc etc etc. ?

And we can further restrict it by only allowing the second queue to run skills being trained from lvl 4 to lvl 5.

Upside: 2 skills training at the same time.
Downside: Combined, it would take twice as long, but the shorter levels 0-1, 1-2, 2-3 can be getting done.

Just a thought. It's hard to improve on something that already works very well.

I don't think this is an improvement.

Download EVEMON to manage skill learning queues if there is a problem with your skill learning order.

Um ... if you want to do that you could just switch back and forth between skills every couple seconds and it would have the same effect.

My point is, however, that it's kinda pointless to do so. If you want a skill trained, you just throw it in the queue and it'll train. What you're suggesting would actually be worse than the current system, since it would take just as long to train the skills, but it would take twice as long to actually get to use the first skill.

It would be pointless for CCP to implement this because it is worse for training than the current system and therefore wouldn't get used by anyone who can stop and think through it.

tl;dr: Doing this would actually hurt your skill training and it would be stupid to implement or use it.

I can't see the advantage of training skills simultaneously as described, considering the training time is the same, it wouldn't be a game breaker from that perspective, but considering that different skills train at different speeds depending on attribute mapping, implants, primary and secondary attrubutes used and multiplier for the skill level, I can see where it could be a real headache figuring out which skill to apply a particular "tick" to unless you only queued up skills with identical training time.
