an interesting starting point. How much would this affect their agility and speed though?

It doesn't help that the OP's fits are bad. You're not playing to the deimos' strengths of a huge cap pool, T2 resists, a falloff bonus, a utility high, and a smaller sig. A hybrid active/buffer tank with an 800mm plate and MAR is pretty good, plus it's not as slow as a 1600 plated one, and the sig tank helps against battleships and arty/rail/beam cruisers.

Basically the brutix is tankier and does more damage (duh), but the deimos is more mobile, flexible, and can engage from farther (the Neutron+null+longpoint shield tank fit isn't possible in a brutix). The deimos is a better roaming ship, the brutix is a better tank-and-spank ship. No surprises there. Despite what you might think, EHP and DPS aren't the only two characteristics of a ship that matters.

If drakes weighed 50% more than caracals, they would be slower and less agile than ravens. Some ideas are better left on the drawing board.

Here's a radical thought: how about instead of nerfing anything popular into the ground, they buff unused ships into relevance! What a crazy idea!

Nerf tier 2 BCs' HP and slot numbers to tier 1 levels, then cut their mobility to approaching BS levels so that a fitted Hurricane isn't faster and more agile than most cruisers.
