So I want to set up a high-sec research POS. I've been reading about some sample set-ups, and it looks like the most common is to load it up with mobile laboratories, and if you're wardecced you take them offline and online your guns and shield hardners and such.

My question is, what happens if I do that (offline the labs) while they're running a research job? Is it just paused? Do the jobs end?

If I recall correctly, when you offline the labs the job remains installed and is paused until you online the tower again. You should therefore be safe to just offline the labs and online the defences as you mentioned.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

The jobs pauses. The only thing that ends jobs is your own command to cancel a job, you un-anchor the lab or if the lab is destroyed.

And if, say, the lab is destroyed, my BPO would return to my corp office in the station that it was installed from? Or it would be lost too?

if you installed the research job from a NPC station (i.e. the BPO lives there), then yes.

If you installed the research job with the BPO in the POS lab, the other guys have a 50/50 chance of it being dropped as loot.

I tried To anchor my mobile Lab and the green box just sat there forever, saw the 600 delay note and I timed it, So obviously Im missing a step
