New role for EAFs?

I should probably start with a statement that I live in WHs and my experience in null is very limited, so I am sure I haven't thought about all the potential consequences this may have.

The idea was inspired by the desire to limit local in nullsec and to find some sort of unique role for EAFs Essentially it would get a module unique to EAF that would effectively jam local in a system. If multiple contiguous systems were jammed it could multiply the jam signal and possibly jam neighboring systems without actually having a jamming mod them. To balance this it would require the EAF to stay on grid of wherever they chose to launch the jam module for 2-3 minutes. Any individual toon can only deploy one per system and at most there can only be 3 active in a system at a time.

I think this would force null sec to protect their space more and give smaller/agile gangs a chance to play instead of just getting blobbed. Obviously it would/could set the stage for a larger fights, but it could also just be used to harass the enemy or distract them from another attack. The structure or whatever is actually created would be relatively easy to take down again encouraging smaller fleets to defend/attack. The ability to quickly deploy them would need to be balanced against how many any individual ship can carry in its cargo similar to the limited number of bombs a stealth bomber can hold.

Would this greatly imbalance the null sec lifestyle or would it encourage new tactics? Again this is coming from a wormholer so I can all but guarantee I have overlooked some implications this may have.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure you're seeing the full implications of intel in nullsec. WHs are one thing, because your location in k-space is constantly moving and aggressors are throttled somewhat because of mass limits (there's no way to jump 50 Dreads all in at once or stuff like that). In nullsec your system is always in the same spot, making you a static target to any and all comers, which makes intel very important.

Also, something to keep in mind, the latest CSM meeting with CCP talked about giving EWar frigs the ability to affect EWar-immune ships as a potential bonus to the class, which could lead to some use of them.

Doesn't this proposal simply make you earn intel instead of being the current version where its simply handed to you? If you want local, go and destroy the jammer. Is that not feasible for some reason I am clearly missing?
