Make moon resources finite and respawn

Make moons have a finite amount of goo and when it's resources are mined out after a month it respawns, like asteroid belts but with new goo properties. A crappy moon may suddenly be a great moon. A system that has been uninteresting may suddenly be very interesting. This will make the value of a region ever changing and hopefully make people fight even more.

The issue is when the tiny corp/alliance that's been in a quiet area suddenly has a Tech moon and is suddenly wtfpwned by a mega alliance because of it. This actually ends up hurting the little guys far more than the big alliances because of that. The idea has been proposed MANY times.

i think it depends greatly on the time it would take for the moon to run out

If a moon runs out in a month the chance of a big alliance finding your moon on time is rather small seeing it takes a long time to scan large amounts of moons on a regular basis

On theother hand ithink it would cause a big spike in moon-goo prices due to reduction in supply causing an increase in t2prices as well

There's a whole lot of moons out there that no one bother to mine because everyone knows they're not worth the hassle. If this would change now and then it would make people move around a bit. A small corp in a pocket somewhere could suddenly turn up with a shiny and crispy new one. And since they're located in the butt of space no one would think of scanning that moon.

I don't have any numbers but I think it would take even a big alliance some time to scan all the moons. Now take that times 12 and you have a lot of time. I'd hate to be the poor guy who had to do all the scanning Big smile But then again, shouldn't they work for the ISK?

And sure, prices would go up and down because of changes but that already happens all the time. X invades Y and take out their poses, and it take some time before X has put up their own. Alliance war probably have a greater impact on the market.

Go scan out a few systems worth of moons, and re-visit your idea.

No thanks. Can't you tell me what you think I should find out instead?
Do you think it's too much work to have a steady income?

Obviously what EVE needs is for people to spend days scanning and rescanning every moon everywhere, just to get the good stuff. Roll

I too want to see billion isk vagabonds, the inevitable end result of a massive reduction in the supply of, well, every T2 component.

I firmly believe that moons should be finite and when one dries up a new moon pops up in the region with goo in it. This would spread the love around, encourage PvP for resources and keep the big guys from just gobbling everything up permanantly for themselves. If the little guys get ousted by the bigger guys because of one moon in a system then they should have had friends to help them out defending.

This is a good idea and I give you a +1 for it. It has, however, been brought up before.

Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821
