The Export Tax for that item should be 900 ISK. The jump in TAX could only be caused by the owner of the POCO you are using. If he does set the tax to 100% then you pay 9.000 ISK per export.

I just warp to the Customs Office through the Science & Industry menu. How can I tell if I'm using a POCO? Can they destroy the NPC CO and create their own and then the menu will automatically take you to theirs instead?

Yes. There's only one customs office per planet. Destroy the one that's there, replace it with yours, and everyone will have to pay you to export or import.

The percentage you pay should be on the screen itself. you can see who owns it, if you show corp tags on the over view. (or do a show info on the customs office, iirc)

Yep, it is a POCO with 100% tax rate. Fell for it once because I didn't pay close enough attention to the taxes as I was exporting. Time to find a new planet I guess. :\

I would tend to agree, the UI does seem very resource intensive considering the apparent simplicity of it, I'm lucky enough for it not to be an issue really , though I do remember my old rig wasn't entirely happy running it smoothly.

Yeah.. I keep thinking that, if it was exposed over the API.. the whole think could be implemented in wx pretty easily and, outside survey, would be pretty lightweight. I know it is the programmer in me, but I really hope someday they open up some ability to influence the game universe via API..

How to make high sec PI profitible:

1. Don't treat it like null sec. (( Plan on storing a lot ))

2. It should be a side project at best.

3. Use the long timers. This will improve your isk per hour even if it means your total PI amount is far lower.

4. Don't worry too much on how much profit it makes. (( It won't pay enough to waste time worrying about it. ))

5. Haul full loads! Not worth the time per hour if you do it any other way.

6. Ajust from time to time and get back to other things. ((monthly))

Will you make hundreds of mil this way? Nope.

Will your real time per isk ratio be decent? Yep, but just barely.

If you really want to get into the PI game you got to get out of high sec.

Do not bother with high-sec PI. It is a complete waste of time. Only do PI in null-sec or low-sec.

Not counting initial build costs I made 1.9 mil of off 4 planets on my first day after tariff charges. Big smile

Is there a way to speed up the processing of raw materials? I have piles of raw material and maybe 1,000 units each of refined materials after a 24 hour cycle.

I think I'm doing it wrong. Sad

6000 units of P0 feeds 1 Basic factory for an hour
2 basic factories will feed 1 advanced P2 factory (one for each P1 required)

I'd like to point out, however, that using your accurate, reasonable and realistic figures (that is to say, an average of an hour a day after accounting for all hauling, logistics, marketing, distractions, etc, for 500m/mo) the Isk/w-hr ratio is 16.6m, which is better than hisec mining, but not better than much else, I'm afraid. Very low risk, though, which is nice, of course.

It seems to me that L4 high sec mining missions should be giving you roughly 12k LP + 6m ISK per hour.

Someone who's actually a miner should double check those figures, but I know the gas missions take me 28:40 of extraction time, and a few mins to accept, fly out. I seem to remember the ice and mining missions contained similar quantities relative to max mining skills, but would involve more hauling than a single ship can do (I don't bother with them since my chars don't have maxed mining/ice mining skills).

I need to see if I can find a system with multiple L4 mining agents so I can keep running nothing but gas mining.

I started doing my Hi-Sec PI about a month ago, after re-subbing. Only one account. I've got 5 planets, extracting all of the POS fuels, including the two P2's for robotics. I did oxygen for awhile but it's so easy to obtain that I only had to do it for about a week or two until I had enough for 90 days of POS operation. After shutting down my oxygen planet, I switched it over; I actually have two planets doing Coolant, since proportionally it's the most demanding POS fuel.

After just about a month of my PI in hi sec, I have enough for 50 days of Robotics on a medium tower, 90 days of oxygen, and about 60 days of everything else. I'm trying to get my friend to resub so we can cooperate and set up a large tower in a lowsec system that we can do PI in to sustain it better.

To summarize, my profits this month have been close to 100mil. Considering I'm not selling what I obtain, meh.
