Oh dear, I think I just doomed the EVE Server...

Right now, EVE has a total of around 50,000 players, give or take a few thousand.

Freddie Wong, one of the best YouTube stars in history, has 2,000,000+ subscribers.

I recently told Freddie Wong about EVE Online.

What do you think would happen if he started playing, and then told all of his fans on YouTube about the game? Most likely, at least a million people would try to make accounts, and it would probably crash the Server because it isn't desgined to handle that many players.

I think I just doomed EVE Online... I am so sorry, everyone...

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

You know, I've contemplated a lot over the time I've been unsubbed what it would take to get me to resubscribe- Even for a month.

What do you know! All it took was Amaroq Dricaldari posting more uninformed crap, almost as if he was inviting me, saying "Hey, come get me now, bad boy!".

Well guess what. You did doom one thing this night- Yourself. Thanks to your spectacularly bad posting, you get me for an entire month.

And just in case you didn't know; Your voice is not suddenly going to get whoever Freddie Wong is to plug Eve and get his mind-slaved subscribers [presumably yourself included] to flock here as if it were his promised land.

Eve had, at the last subscriber count I cared to check, well over 300,000 subscribers.

Assuming even half of the quoted subscriber count decided to nosey its way here, thats a ~3.4x increase in new players. Now, if we assume that across a 23^1/2 hour timespan the same ratio of people are active from that chunk of subscribers that have been from the current eve subscribers [Avg 33k~ at any time during the day (Important point, Average)] thats about ~11-12% of the subscribers online at any time, with peak being higher and offpeak going lower.

12% of 1,000,000 is only 120k. So TQ goes from supporting [at current] an average of 33k people at any time to, say, 150k. Not bad, a five fold increase. Now consider TQ's current record for concurrent online players is 63,170. So TQ has proven itself to run well with 63k, 150k would only be 2.3x~ what the server has proven it can handle with hardware that has already been replaced since.

Let's also take into account that actually, Eve scales with the playerbase expansion quite well. It's only when an aggregation of people collect in one node that things get bad; and even then if that started happening, and these player levels were seen, CCP would have the income to throw more Jita's-Nodes around. But I digress.

Even at peak times, given the influx of subscriber cash Eve would probably benefit after the first fortnight or so.

TL:DR?

* Back for a month.
* Amaroq's quality of posting still has not improved.
* OOPE Is still mine.
* Eve would survive. As much as I hate it.

Who is Freddie Wong?

Also I doubt all of his millions of subscribers will do much of anyhting at all. Maybe a few thousands will. Most youtube subscribers now a days is just doing it out of habit rather then having any real interest in the videos.

Clicking "sub" or "like" is easy and takes no brain power. That's also why you always end up with moron politicians in power.

We all know your claim is false and that I have always been the true master of OOPE. M.D. Fixer of links and Stroller of reply-turned-thread threads. I even have the screenshot to mark the momentous occasion during the graet territorial war of OOPE.

Don't think you can just stroll on in for a month and lay your false claims again. As a true leader of everything random I have vowed to upkeep OOPE for several months to come and most likely longer. Just you and your anime try to remove me!
