I believe the meaning was quite clear. If they are unsettling to you, then you have my condolences. To put it plainly though, M. Octirant was executed, in the very permanent sense.

Outspoken Gallente Politician Slain

ERME -

In the early hours of Sunday Morning, the outspoken chair of the Federal Nationalist Party, Professor Alain Octirant, was fatally attacked on his way from Villore.

The chairman, who has recently come under fire for his comments regarding the Federal Consensus Outreach and their possible participation in the Empyrean conflict, was known for his outspoken opinions on cluster relations and as an amateur vintner on his private estates near Vylade.

The Equilibrium of Mankind-aligned capsuleer group, Seekers of a Silent Paradise, left an enigmatic message on GalNet regarding Octirant's death, which many have taken as a claim of responsibility. SASPR have been at war with the FCO, a war that several FCO insiders attribute to inflammatory comments made by the late Professor.

It is not known why Mr Octirant's clone did not activate upon his death, but FIO investigators are currently examining the cloning facility in the Senate Bureau in Villore for defects and foul play has not as yet been ruled out.

Enigmatic statements are unsettling. Saying it quite bluntly as you just did is far more comforting. I like facts, not riddles.

We here at Reclamation Technologies are greatly saddened that this war with SASPR has brought about M. Octirant's assassination - whether directly or indirectly; just as his actions may have caused the war - whether directly or indirectly.

While unfortunate, we hold renewed hope that this tragic event will hasten the end of hostilities with SASPR and allow all parties involved to move on.

RECLT looks forward to the day that SASPR can be counted as loyal customers rather than enemies. In fact, we hold this hope for all corporations and citizens of New Eden.

****ADDENDUM****

I neglected to mention in our previous communication:

We at RECLT of course deplore the assassination of M. Octirant and hope the person responsible is brought to justice, should they be apprehended.

It would be more accurate to say M. Octirant believed in democracy.

Whatever he may have believed, he has gone to meet his judgement. I would like to award Crucifire the Misericorde in recognition for her contributions to the removal of this stain, and I hope for the sake of the next head of the FNP that he shows a bit more tact, both in whom he insults, and with whom he traffics. Sometimes the most dangerous enemies are the people closest to you, as M. Octirant discovered in his last moments.

This here is the intereresting bit that most people seem to be glossing over.

That is like saying look forward to the day that spatulas become disembodied floating buttocks, you fool.

I grow increasingly tired of this wolf and sheep imagery **** we have thrown at us on a daily basis. If anything, we are the shepherd, and you are the wolf, common criminal.

On 29.01.114YC, Professor, Chairman Alain Octirant was ruthlessly assaulted in his shuttle.

He had no clones, or backups. He has passed away, forever.

On behalf of the friends and colleagues of late Alain Octirant, professor of history, chairman of the Federal Nationalist Party, I would like to make it known that there will be a modest ceremony to commemorate him in Villore on Sunday 02.05.114YC, 02:00 o'clock EVE Standard Time.

The memorial service is open for public.

Those who wish to deliver a more leghthly address should contact the organizers.

Following a series of private exchanges and then negotiations tonight with M. Saldissot, the Seekers have retracted the official declaration of hostilities after receiving agreeable monetary compensation and have returned the corpse of Alain Octirant so that it may be respectfully tended in the funeral ceremony to the soul that once inhabited it. No disruption of the ceremony will be attempted by any Seeker, and we will leave the area with considerably more respect for this group of capsuleers than we have for any of the so-called "military" organizations that we have crossed weapons with in the past.

After a gruelling caucus in the party office in Villore, I have been elected the Chairman of the FNP. While I very much admired my late predecessor, it is well known that he was something of a maverick. The FNP intends to be a functional member of the alliance and we hope to be able to contribute to the project. I expect a positive and amicable working relationship with my alliance partners.

The choosing of a new FNP Chairman is of-course an internal matter, and RECLT was diligent to not get involved in the internal politics of another corporation. Now that the matter is concluded, Reclamation Technologies is extremely pleased to welcome Col. Nardieu to his new role, and offers our most heartfelt congratulations.

We appreciate the new views and policies Col. Nardieu supports and brings to FNP, and look forward to a reinvigorated and positive alliance.

We also wish to applaud and show our respect for Col. Nardieu's previous career with the military. We know that Col. Nardieu is not one to shy away from making the tough decisions, and recognizing when judicious pruning of a wayward branch can help the whole tree thrive.

We wish to recognize the efforts M. Saldissot put forward bringing these hostilities to a close. We also appreciate the respect and assistance SASPR extended us, allowing us to guide M. Octirant to his final peace and resting place.

With the close of hostilities, we would also like to take this opportunity to invite SASPR to keep Reclamation Technologies in mind should they find themselves in the market for any goods in the future. There is no reason to let past tensions taint future possibilities.

01.29.114YC - a meeting of the Executive Council of Federal Consensus Outreach was held on Crux Agora.

The participants were Msr. Luc Saldissot, Administrator James Syagrius, accompanied by Msr. Kat Robspierre, Chairman Bastian Valoron, Professor Alain Octirant.

The bulk of the Council's discussion focused on the ongoing hostilities with the Seekers of a Silent Paradise. Disagreement on this topic was impassioned. Prof. Octirant closed his communication channels after a particularly heated exchange, saying as he left "I believe in democracy, Msr. Syagrius, and in the rights of a Federal citizen."

The meeting adjourned shortly thereafter.

The efficiently executed and plausibly deniable method with which FCO's Executive Council went about pruning their wayward branch was a model of Gallente power politics and should be considered mandatory practical reading for Corporate Politics students at any right-thinking institution of higher learning.
