Unfortunately you are failing to read the important part of the message, which i have bolded and italized above. CCP clearly states that any deal made or finalized outside the channel is done at the risk of persons making the deal. CCP wants it both ways -- they want the recruitment channel to be "safe" but they dont want to have the responsibility to police the actions that result out of the channel. I predict that the OP's petition is doomed.

I won't die if i don't get my isk back, but it would be cool if CCP actually punished someone for breaking a rule :)

That "platform" clause was recently put in there by one idiot GM without any thought to the impossibility of enforcing it.

You can never prove that someone used the recruitment channel as a "platform" and there is no clear definition of what "recruitment scamming" is or isn't.

No one will ever get banned for fishing suckers out of that channel, and Goons know it. The GM who changed the MOTD should be fired for idiocy.

I was recruited by a Goons during the Ice Interdiction. Plopped down my 500M, had a trial run during the event to see how committed I was, and after it ended they accepted my app and returned the deposit with interest.

Frankly, everything was aboveboard and given how the spy metagame works in 0.0 these days they'd be crazy NOT to do something similar. Every few days you get a message saying '"X" is blue-shooting, be careful' until they're able to be kicked.

Came into thread expecting a story about recruitment spam, left having gotten all that I expected.

Common sense: we have 3300 members, how could that ever happen if we scammed everyone who applied?

So, you guys want the truth? Here's MY experience joining GoonWaffe. I could get into trouble for posting this, but I don't care anymore. I want to help you guys.

Here's how it works. First, you have to get noticed.
Some recruiters are courageous and will recruit anyone, but this is dangerous because you will get kicked out if you recruit too many idiots and spies. Most select their recruits carefully. Amongst other things, they look at your killboard history and the quality of your Eve-o posting (if applicable).

Then, you have to prove your are worthy of GoonWaffe. They will ask for your full API, a security deposit and occasionally some miscellaneous other thing, such as suicide ganking some poor sap or (if you have a sadistic recruitment officer) a 250 word essay on why you want to join. You're asking for them to trust you to be a legit applicant and not a spy, isn't it a no-brainer to ask for some trust in return?

It's kind of like those trust experiments where you're asked to jump blindfolded into a void, but you know your friends will catch you. They just want you to prove you're committed.

Back to my story.
My security deposit was 500 million isk. Fortunately, I happened to have a PLEX lying around from a buddy invite.

I paid it as a security deposit and gave my recruiter my full API.

The days, weeks, months passed. I was starting to get chills reading all of those scamming threads, but I knew I had done everything right, so I did not falter.

Yesterday, I checked my wallet and I noticed a transaction. Out of the blue, my recruiter had given me my 600m iskies back. That's a 500m security deposit with 20% interest. There was an EVE-mail saying that I passed the test and I was invited into GoonWaffe. This is what you get for not pussying out. The interest is financed out of all the idiots who are impatient spies or don't have the balls to wait it out.

I then contracted all of my meager assets to our JF service. It got blown up by gate rats because of a dumb pilot (you should see the thread on our forums, he's being ridiculed), but hey, it happens. I'm short of three fitted thrashers and 500m3 of random ass rat modules, but now I'm rich anyways thanks to all the Goonswarm social programs and bittervet love.

It is actually. It's just as safe as highsec, except that I get to make 50 million an hour just from salvaging in a Thrasher and 500 million a month AFK thank to nullsec PI and Goon custom offices. Enjoy paying taxes, peasants. Also, it's three jumps to anywhere thanks to the jump bridge network. What were you saying again?

they are allowed to do whatever they want and do ignore all the rules in this game. also, don't forget to generate a new API.

I really don't understand why people want to join a corp or alliance that bad that they are willing to give 75% of all their assets to a corporation that will literally do NOTHING for them. There are corporations and alliances out there that need new players that will actually give you benefits. Once a corp/alliance is as large as GOONs they don't really need to do d i c k for you and it's only a matter of THEY DONT NEED PLAYERS.

I personally can't wait for the day that either all of EVE declares war on goons until they are gone/dead or someone is paid tons of ISK to do to them what they did to BOB. forget to pay the billz and are disbanded.
