If I had been given 1 million isk everytime someone didn't "RESEARCH" and got scammed by GSF I would have basically won EVE.

Why are people so eager to throw away money on something they didn't even look into is beyond me.

Golden Rule of applying to a corporation in EVE: Never pay anything to anyone for joining a corp (or immediately after it). Ever. If a corporation wants more (in ISK or assets) from you than what it gets from the corp tax system, it most often ends in tears.

Also a related golden rule: Never put the majority of your assets outside of your direct control. Anything other than a NPC station hangar in Empire space is "outside of your direct control".

Nullsec station access can be revoked, corporate POS access can be revoked, POS passwords can change, corporate hangar access can come and go... if your stuff is in such a place, you cannot count for it to be accessible to you. So many sob stories exist of newbies scammed of their bling bling ships with a simple "kick from corp" with the bling bling left in a corp hangar or corp POS. Note that a private hangar in player alliance controlled station is a special case - you can't lose the stuff in there but it may become impossible to get to it, so you may have to wait for a long time for the opportunity to arise or you need to find someone else who has access to that station and is willing to fulfill a hauling contract.

Edit: Also, lol scammer got scammed. Proves that Jita scammers are not the brigtest bulbs and all that.

If i wanted to do so .. i would probably do it because i want to have some fun and fly rifters/ruptures/hurricanes/tempests shooting stuff anytime i log in ..

And for simple thing like this i wouldnt pay anything, my presence in their fleets would be an payment

People willing to pay for an corp/alliance invitation deserve to be scammed.. because they are scammers .. wanting greener pastures for themselves.

after (just) one year of EVE i'm still unsure, if i should like or dislike Goon*.

Whenever they do "something awful", a little storm breaks into this forums.
And repetitive tears appear about being scamed somehow related to Goon*.

Should i have sympathy with the victims, or should i be amused by the stories herein?
( i still tend to the first one - a little bit )
On the other hand: Something is actually happening. It's ambiguous.

Nevertheless: I can't understand the attractiveness of the Goon*.
What makes some people to eagerly want to join them?

For me it smells like "joining winning team".
And that's nothing i would feel proud of.

There are many other nice corporations out there...

So, you admitted talking to wartargets during a war.
That´s consorting with the enemy. What Null-Sec-Corp would hire such a person? What guarantees that you won´t do that again, possibly betray your Corp.
Also, persons with numbers in their name aren´t really trustworthy either.

Sorry mate, but you are really a spy or a traitor just waiting to happen...... I wouldn´t let you in my Corp either.

If the OP is being honest(which would be a dubious assumption) then he is probably correct that the Goons broke a rule.

I really dont see CCP having the balls to stand up to Mittani(or any other CSM) at this point however.
