Although the reason I didn't attend wasn't financial I can claim it was with my 10 month unemployment.

The "other side of the river" must realise ASAP that the western civilization is transforming to a Caldarian Corporatocracy.

Greeks lost their country first(pioneers in politics as usual) and the others will follow.

Well, for a internet-less country, i think it we did a very nice gathering.
Some conclusions....

* The link with Iceland was very cool. Cool
* The cake excellent as always. Blink
* I'm still the most handsome player in EVE. Twisted

Congratz organizers. Well done.

Can Greece afford this?

What's the connection between a gathering of people that play EVE and Greece national economic state?

NONE.

The misinformation is overwhelming.

Two days passed since the event.

More than 140 "pilots" from Athens and Thesaloniki were gathered and spend some time talking about our favorite game.

We held a video conference with CCP Guard and I want to thank him -on dehalf of Greek Community - for the time he spent replying in our questions.
Also I want to thank all staff in CCP for their efforts to help us in our event.

In previous post I mention about a lottery. This year the lottery tickets was 72! Almost one player out of two won a gift. The gifts was a variety of EVE items such ships and merchandise items related to game.

Thank you for this wonderful event,

Until next year, fly safe

PS: Reply's related to current financial situation should be posted somewhere else. Thank you.

Let me add my experience on the gathering too.
This is the first year I attended the annual EVE players gathering in Athens and I can say it was a nice experience. Big smile
Although there were some rough spots, we had fun and the chance to meet the persons behind the avatars :).

TalosC has summarized it pretty good.

It was a very well organised event. We had lots of fun and met with a few new pilots as well.
The Station we were in, had excellent services as well.

Many thanks to Immo, Talos for organising all this and to Martineth for keeping the spirit up with lots of humor during the lottery.
Also i woudl like to add that despite the small technical problem we had with the icelandic live feed (faulty HDMI cable that came out of the box and had no sound) CCP Guard did an excellent job answering every possible question and helping in boosting the spirit and morale.

We are allready planning ahead for our next event to make it bigger and better hoping to get a member of CCP over to Athens next year.

The winners of the lottery will get the presents the follwing week (Feb 5th and on)

A big thanks to CCP for sendign some small presents for the community and to all who participated in the lottery with various gifts. iirc we had smt around 20 bill, a few PLEX's and one Baalghorn to give out.

Ευχαριστώ από τα βάθη της καρδιάς μου όλους όσους ήρθαν στην κοπή και βοήθησαν στην εμψύχωση των ελλήνων και μη πιλότων. Big smileBig smileBig smile

After attending this gathering since 2008 all I can say is that this year has been the best. With more participants than ever, the Greek EVE online community gathered together to spend a few happy hours in a friedly and relaxed atmosphere in an area of Athens that could be easily considered the downtown equivalent of Amamake.

This time CCP was close to us thanks to a live link with CCP Guard who, despite the problematic connection, had the patience to answer to many questions about our favourite game. I hope that next year a CCP developer will be among us to witness how we love this game and appreciate the work done (espacially after Crucible).

Kudos to TalosC, Immortal and Martinez for organising all this, to all corps and pilots who contributed with gifts (in ISK and ships) and of course, CCP for the gifts (grrrr I still hate that I missed that Gurista patch).

We hope that for the 2013 pie cutting gathering we may enjoy also the company of fellow pod pilots from other countries who will take the brave decision to “burn” to Greece, travel all those jumps to the southeastern corner of Europe and warp to our friendly blob. Greeks remain hospitable so there will be no gatecamps along the way. Just don’t bring anything fancy. Greece may be low sec but it's fun!

Hope next year we can "dress" the "amamake" cafe like CCP do in fanfest!

Maybe some brutor tribe style...

It was nice, hope we are here and the next year.

Thanks to all for organizing it.

Thanks in advance.
