Have you tried to reset your settings? Aka: rename the ~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online folder to something else and then start the game?

Just canceled another account. The game is currently unplayable on my mac. Constantly locking up. In stations, jumping through gates, running missions, everything. Have submitted a bug report. I've already tried deleting the preferences and clearing various caches. Nothing has worked.

This is my last account. If the mac client doesn't start receive more development, than I'll have to cancel this one as well. Just not worth it. Also, the lack of communication from CCP and any sort of hint as to what the future of the mac platform might hold is extremely frustrating. It would be nice if CCP would tell the mac crowd if we can expect any improvements and added resources to the development of the mac client.

I fully support these words certainly understand that CCP is not so much to lose if the owners of the MAC OS will no longer play because of technical problems. But the mere fact that they ignore the problem of users, will prove to everyone how much they respected the users, and how much care about the game.

It is probably a small percentage of EVE users but, at least in other areas, Apple users are a very attractive demographic that spend more money that Windows/PC users and Apple sales are skyrocketing! Maybe CCP don't mind missing out of this potential growth.

May as well add my voice to the choir.

Game has ran smoothly on my mac for over a year and continues to do so bar one major bug.

Every time I open the fitting screen the game crashes forcing a power button reset. (seems to be common)
Seems like opening the fitting screen takes an abnormally large amount of memory and the client can't deal with it.

Happens every single time when docked in ship view, almost every time when in CQ, and never whilst in space.

As i can't change fitting, the game is essentially unplayable, and I hate paying my subscription just to keep the skill queue going.

My specs are

OSX Lion
3.2 Ghz Intel Core i3
4Gb 1333 Mhz DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB

I think the SSR just does not see the problem is that the Mac has become impossible to play, not a single answer moderators about solving the problem, this leads to a very sad thought.

how about instead of crying and posting into the crash thread instantly to voice your frustration, you look at the forums and look for the fix thread?

Here it is for you if you are too lazy/blind to do so

Good, you could do the same and read the thread to notice that some of us have said that several times already, others have done that several times and the problems are still there...

**sigh**

Wow, thanks. "Hey guys I made a fix thread, how dare you not post in it."

Unfortunately, the crash most of us are having (random freeze up, music skipping, force quit required) is not solved or affected by your "please delete your wtf folder" post.

Also, a note, just had the random freeze last night again; this time in space in the middle of a pve battle while in fullscreen (it's typically happened when docked in windowed mode).

Yeah, the latest patch didn't fix it. It froze up a couple of times yesterday for me.

Joining my voice to the list of those who have no viable client.
I tried everything I could think of... eventually working my way around to a full reformat of the drive, and fresh download/install of the client. The same issues persist.

I feel so weary and tired - it is really beyond any other emotion.

Still have the same issues with client freezing up and (worse) not starting afterwards anymore.

CCP: this game has been unplayable since days!

From the patch notes for the patch on Feb 16th:

"Mac client fixes

A fix has been found for several known (but not all) crashes. This should improve client stability for Mac users."

Lets hope it fixed the issue for people who got it, and does not cause issues for those like me who do not.

I do know in the last Sisi test I had a big bug: Jumping through a busy gate would cause no object in space to show (other than the nebulae), no object in the overview to show, and I would sit in that limbo state, able to change camera view, chat, but not operate the ship, until I re-logged. I did bug report it, and it came back "known issue", but that does not mean its been fixed.

I don't know if it has been fixed yet, to be honest I lost all hope. I do know that Apple once had Eve Online screenshots and links when they talked about games on their websites or publications. I can't find any reference to Eve Online at all anymore.

I guess Apple themselves got fed up with CCP as well.

Sony will be next I'm betting ..... seems like CCP can not handle cross platform support ....... I was planning on getting a PS3 to play Dust ..... not a chance of that happening now. CCP Mac users do talk with PC users you might want to ignore us because we are the minority but ineptitude at cross platform support will negatively impact migration of EVE Online players to Dust. Seriously how can we have any confidence in your technical ability to link our computers to the same universe with a game console when you can't keep Mac and PC systems working at the same time?

Hey hey, there's some extremely decent games on the ps3, don't just write it off.
And we don't know yet whether dust will be good or not.

Also, there won't be a migration; Dust isn't for eve players really, it's for those...special...people who can't get enough explosions and...tea in bagged form.
