So how IS it on 'The Dark Side'?

As people around here know, I'm an industrialist, I love to spend hours poring over my Spread-fu, work out new profit schemes, manipulate markets, and generally aquire more and more isk.

Some might consider this 'carebearing' however, I do not, a carebear in my mind is someone who shies away from PvP and whines when his shiny ship gets blown up.

I am not one of those people.
While I generally don't go out of my way to blow people up, I will stand up and be counted when people come to mess with us, and give them a thrashing they'll not soon forget. Peace is good for profit, but War is the Engine on which my profit thrives.
( and there's nothing more satisfying to me after a night of blowing up war targets, than log on in the morning, and see they have replaced their ships lost by buying my lovely ships from the market, thus nullifying any losses I might have had. )

I also love visting this forum and reading the stories of carebears who whine when they get themselves darwinised by the local residents here.

Now here is my problem.. I feel the Yarr is rising in me.. I am more and more getting this urge to invest in a tear harvesting operation of my own, flipping cans of carebears, blowing up innocent ships, and generally having a jolly good time at it. Fear of losses is something that happens to other people really, I've lost enough ships in Eve, mainly prowlers when some people actually managed to catch my blockade runners. I don't mind this, as flying a BR is boring if there's nobody out there to try and catch me, the thrill of ouflying a gatecamp full of people bent on killing my single little ship. ( 100+ successfull breakthroughs of gatecamps here :) )

Ofcourse as i'm in an industrial corp, and an industrial alliance, Yarring is a strickt nono, we're NRDS in low-sec, and even in null sec, our RoE state we don't attack 'innocent' ships unless they're war targets and such. Hence just taking a rifter and heading to empire for a little 'fun and trouble' is against our regulations.

So what is a girl to do? I don't want to upset my alliance, and on top of that, industry isn't easily moved, I have too much vested interestes in the location where I am. ( which is poor on proper yarring targets anyway )

you have isk ? If yes , buy an alt and don`t tell your corpies . Since you have intel , you can also grief your own corp members , the annoying ones Lol

If you really want to keep it on that character on the sly the a jump clone to somewhere far away is the best bet (though saying that, EVERYTHING is far from Sol :P) Where its unlikely to cause issues for the corp/alliance, assuming they don't mind.

Or a out of corp hidden alt is another way to go

You may find a more suitable home in one of the lowsec PVP alliances.
Many of them have an industrial base of alts and will run a POS or two for various industrial activities.
Such an organization may be the best of both worlds for you.

The previous suggestion of the purchase of a PVP/Pirate alt is a fantastic alternative.
This is common for wealthy traders or industrialists.
Spend some time in RvB, Faction Warfare or find a pirate academy such as Heretic Academy.
Truth be told, I fear their students more than the Heretics themselves.

Good luck in your quest for excitement and may you achieve -10 with a smile on your face and an inbox full of tears.

Do it anyway. Most indy corps have their heads so far up their asteroids they won't even know what you're doing. And for that matter, I've been in indy corps that LOVED to go out and flip other people's cans, saved them time mining and occassionally got some chuckles and they went on lowsec roams/POS bashes like any pvp corp would.

Maybe you're in the wrong corp.

If you want a 'tour guide' to pew pew then Lady Spank is available for tuition services starting at 500m isk for a 1 hour instructional session followed at a later date (or immediately, your choice) by 4 hours of roaming, to be divided up as to your liking.

100m isk an hour, but you will be well on your way to knowing what to do after the first session.

Meh, "The Dark side" is just a matter of perspective in this case...

In my opinion you crybabies back in high sec whining about scams and ganks should be considered pretty dark and grim if you ask me. At least we on the other side actually have the firepower to shoot back and get away with it.

Personally? Sacrifice everything for the gameplay you want, i wouldnt care much for any self-rightous "anti-pirate" trying to stop you from going pew pew. Prod me sometime if you get a gang running, anything to see some wreckage.

This. My alliance has an industrial wing and members will go fly with flashy red side on occasions. Many members also have alts in the main corp or indy corp.

There are many options available.

I personally think the true pros aren't really on the dark side. I think a true pro is skilled enough that he or she isn't going to waste his or her time on a miner vessel, or a frigate. Instead, they are hunting down the high value ships. I think it's really the newer players who are flipping cans, and camping asteroid belts.

I can say personally that I'm one of the people harassing miners, and looking for easier prey-- simply because I haven't evne played a year. I don't know the limitations of my ship, and I have a lot to learn. I've given up on the idea of joining a PVP corp because they simple aren't active enough for me, and I find sitting around gates waiting to gank someone not fun. I'm sure there are better corps, but I'm not high enough in SP to get in one.

One day I will be a pro though, and I will perhaps scare miners, but I don't think I'd mess with them. I think I'd like to spend my time finding creative ways to take down bigger fish :)

As for the dark side or light side. I don't know much about that :P

P.S. Why PVP in an indy char anyway? Better to train a PVP char IMO.

The real pros are looking for fights, or creating fight opportunities (no matter size/location/time), and personally I can only think of a handful of players good enough to be considered playing at that level. Neither of them are restricting themselves to a specific sec, they roam about everywhere and use all tools at their disposal.

That's not what the OP asked tho. Bunch of good tips in this thread, however. Two of them stick out.
1) Alt. 2) Joining a lowsec alliance that want/accept an industrial wing.

OP wants to PvP in lowsec but it breaks his alliance rules. Think that pretty much sums it up. We suggest he create alt or join a lowsec alliance industrial wing.
