Aye. I thought Aurum was supposed to be just like ISK in this regard. What happened?

I remembered reading something about security concerns, but how are Aurum any more or less secure then ISK?

I've seen a few microtransaction systems work in such that you can end up with "change" left over. That is you exchange cash for 1000 units of currency then you end up spending 979 units worth on stuff leaving you with 21 units of "change." This change cannot buy anything in the store, so you look at it going "Hmm, I don't don't buy something with these 21 units, it's wasted money. I had better buy more currency so it doesn't go to waste."

Then you end up spending 1011 units, leaving you with 10 units of "change." etc. etc. etc.

Which is bullshit, IMO. I do not appreciate that kind of system where you are not afforded FULL and TOTAL control over your finances.

Which is why you were given 1,000 aurum free, which will buy you absolutely nothing if you are a female character, so to make use of it you will have to buy some.

And it's also why we can't trade them. Lots of people trading their 1,000 'free' aurums will significantly undermine CCP's revenue generation from the Nex.
