I think it has something to do with tabbing out of the game while in space. I'm not 100% sure on this yet (therefore no bug report written yet), but it seems similar to WiS: When you're not in the game while the station environment is loading, the game won't draw your character.

Edit:
Seen the static warp distance remaining too, but it's not consistent (sometimes there's no effect but it's still counting). So this might be a different issue.

While I do not have the warp tunnel missing issue, I have noticed if I alt tab out of the game and then return to the game sometimes the icons will get corrupted or won't show I dont know if this is related though to this problem.

‘No, this isn't it at all. Make it more... psssshhhh’.

I get this issue without alt-tabbing unfortunately.

Sometimes the tunnel is there, some times not... haven't found any good pattern yet.

i keep encountering this 'warp effect not showing' bug, no matter what settings i use (normally i keep them at optimal quality preset) , i only use single client, but ive seen it happen often no matter what setting is on/off, regardless of having alt-tabbed or not, sometimes it shows up many times in a row, sometimes it doesnt, i cant find any particular pattern. when i can ill get to filing an official bug report on this

i beleive it was introduced during incursion and has annoyed me since, previously the warp bubble effect would always show up consistently

I have this on my computer also. But noticed that when depth effects are off the bubble is less likely to not show but happens also with that setting off.

I am running with fixed window so no alt tabbing for me. Also the sideways warp is still not fixed. Still randomly the tunnel will show itself sideways instead of towards the point my ship warps to.

Everyone who is having this problem should read this post and do exactly what it says.

Thanks everyone for the replies. At this points I am sadly out of ideas in regards to this specific issue and it's likely that we will need to collect more information on this in the form of bug reports. Please include a DxDiag file and the settings screenshot to that report, and if you managed to catch such a missing warp with the logserver tool, then add that log file to the bug report as well.

It's imperative to include the DxDiag and Logserver files. The more we submit these files, the easier it will become to resolve the issue.

In regards to the missing cloud in the mission "Recon (3 of 3)" as mentioned by Aelana Anais, there is no need to bug report this anymore. We know about it and this is already being worked on, albeit I sadly have no information at this point on when the cloud will return.

Added Logserver and DxDiag with screenshot of settings on my bugreport : 116613

During login the first warp had no warp effect but after the jump all others had, oddly enough I mostly did not get that so don't know if the logserver maybe does something?

Happening to me. While not game breaking, it certainly is Immersion breaking, and therefore very frustrating.

Just submitted a bug report with dxdiag attached.

Everyone having this problem should also see if it also occurs on Singularity. (So far, the warp tunnel has been present in every warp I've done in Singularity.)

Also, it's a good excuse to check out the new CQs. P

If the problem still shows up, definitely submit a bug report with your settings, Dxdiag, and logserver data.

orly. I'll check it out.

Edit: Yup - this appears to be fixed on Sisi. Also, the new fonts are way more readable. Looks good all over.

I got pretty much what's in the OP. I send a report yesterday, with DXDiag file, settings screenshot, and log.
Good luck.

Just wondering what's going on with the missing warp effect bug? It was introduced in Incursion and it still hasn't been addressed. I opened a bug report a while back and was told that it was a known issue. Guess it's not a simple fix if it's still broken. Any ETA?

This was fixed, but it would appear some players are experiencing this issue again. When did you file the bug report regarding this please?

Hello CCP,

This is also an issue for me across 4 different computers, all with different hardware and graphics settings. One is a new 27inch MAC, this one is an Athlon X2 with an AMD card, my work machine is running the latest quad intel proc and an 8800GTX card... you get the picture, I am 100% sure it is not hardware related (if that helps).

Here is my take on it:

I believe this has to be to do with the player moving the camera before activating the warp. If you undock from a station, do not move the camera even 1 pixel, right click on something in the overview and warp you see the bubble every time, if you move the camera even slightly, I don't see the bubble.

That is the same symptom across all 4 machines (the fourth is a laptop) and I can recreate it every time, as I always move the camera around it sucks to be me since I no longer see the nice warp effect (ever) and it really detracts from the immersion of the game. It doesn't matter if you are undocking from a station or just arriving out of a gate or what, once you have moved the camera, no more warp bubbles for you!

Please fix it, the warp bubble was always a little bit sporadic when I used to play, now I genuinely never see it, and it sucks, the warp effect is a real part of eve for me as it gives you the feeling you are powering through space, without it you just get to look at your stationary ship all the time and its pretty crap :P

EDIT: Think how many new players are coming to eve and don't even know the warp effect exists? I tried eve because I saw my friend playing and thought it looked ace *because* of the effect!

I agree with everything Fox said, I also believe moving/zooming the camera is the most likely cause. The entire warp tunnel effect could probably do with a total overhaul in any case, when it did work you would often get it sideways. Its sorely missed.

The warp bubble goes away 90% of the time in fleet warps, if you're warping by yourself, that's why it probably seems to be fixed.
