Blood Vigil bugged ?

Yesterday I found a Blood Vigil combat site. After warping in, it was completely empty (no wrecks, no NPCs only some structures). EVElopedia says something about a Bloop Chapel to hold the key to the accel gate inside, but there was no such structure.

I scaned for wrecks to see if somebody may have reached the 2nd room already (and cleared the first one) but nothing was on scaner.

Is it common for the higher escalation sites to be this bugged ?

Sometimes someone will clear the first pocket, get the key and after entering the 2nd pocket, get chased out or blown up. Wrecks only last for a couple of hours. There should be some sort of Pirate tag that can be used to access the gate, usually a pop up message will list it when you try to access the gate. For that site, a Blood Gold Tag can be used to unlock that gate.

wrecks persist for 2 hours, then vanish. after the player wreck is gone, the site should despawn afaik. so if the wrecks were already gone from the first pocket, I'd expect the site to have despawned already. but there were no wrecks on my scan.

The site will only despawn after the overseer has been destroyed. Blood Vigil can often be found in the state you described, since the second room can be very nasty to the unprepared pilot.

This would not be a big deal at all if the "Blood Gold Tag" weren't so damn expensive.

I ofte come across "broken" vigil/watch sites. Last week I found a broken Angel Watch. First pocket empty, no wrecks, gate to 2nd pocket locked.

Siting down the gate with d-scan, I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a frigging Hulk in there, mining the asteroids Ugh

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Ahaha! The lengths miners go in order to avoid the suicide gankers never ceases to make me chuckle.

ok so in addition to the passkeys I have to carry pirate tags in my hold. I am getting into the realms where my ship is a worthwil target to gank :(

the blood structure in "blood vigil" will not drop a key as its destruction triggers the gate locking mechanism..

blood watch is just dam anoying because spiderdrones are Tehax. .

Just to clarify to the OP - none of the faction watches/vigils drop an actual key tag in the first pocket, afaik. You have to either trigger the gate correctly by killing an Overseer or somesuch, or bring a "substitute key" in the form of a (usually pricey) Tag which is used up on unlocking the gate.

Given that the loot drops from the actual Vigil or Watch are so random, and the chance of an escalation is less than 10%, I don't know of anyone who actually spends isk on Tags to unlock broken plexes.

Plus, you might spend 2m on the Tag and get in to find a shedton of dps on you but no faction spawn.

This happened to me yesterday. I ran an Angel Vigil, and Pat Wead didn't spawn despite me shooting the stasis towers and his shipyard (which are the triggers). I motored around for 5 mins waiting and shooting other stuff, but he refused to appear. Anyone else dropping into that pocket would find themselves immediately aggressed by all the spawns. And that's a LOT of dps in the Angel Vigil.

That same plex was still there 3 hours later when I passed through the system again.

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

the problem is, if the trigger is destroyed and somebody uses the gate, does the gate lock again ? as I said, the 1st room was completely empty and we destroyed all the structures that were destroyable. nothing spawned and the gate was locked.

so I am puzzled as to why this is so.

I do not argue about the gold tag. but the description indicated that a structure or some gatekeeper NPC drop it in the 1st room.

I'll try to find more of those and fiddle around.

I have indeed found this to be true, at least with Guristas Provincial HQ which is set up in exactly the same way. In that one you destroy a structure to unlock the gate or can bring a tag to unlock it. I am not sure what the timer is, but if you unlock the gate by destroying the structure, it will eventually relock. Either this is or it keys to whomever destroyed the structure; I haven't tested it. The only way through at this point would be to bring a tag to unlock the gate.

I have found numerous plexes partially completed because whoever was running it didn't know the (often multiple) triggers, killed what they could then just left (probably to run to the forums about how the site is bugged).
