Having been in FW from the beginning, I can tell you that most, if not all FW pilots are willing to go pie. Usually it is against pirates or known agressive pilots, or people with low sec status, anyone that appears to be a threat, or potential threat. Some FCs won't do it, but most will. We generally don't attack obviously harmless neuts, but, if bored enough, you are right, we will. Usually it is more about making a statement that we control a particular area, and we are sending the message that it is a war zone, and one ought to be careful, or like i said, we percieve the target to be a potential hostile.

The avg FW player isnt a serious roleplayer, but we do look to keep our little corner of the universe safe.Kinda like cops.We will however attack all pirates, suspicious neuts and the overtly stupid. I rarely if ever see any kind of concerted effort to target those who are clearly neutral and pose no threat, unless they go around acting like they think they are in high sec, in which case we let them know it's an active warzone.If a target is tempting enough, and brazen enough there is a chance we'll attack it. Genuine Neuts who show a healthy respect have little to worry about from militia.Thats my opinion, anyway.....

Yes and no. At least for GalMil in the US TZ, more people are willing to go pirate due to a relative shortage of FW targets. I honestly don't see this as a bad thing, given a good chunk of FW members already live full time in low sec, and probably don't have any real desire to return to high-sec. From a RP perspective, a militia isn't a formal standing army, and is made up of individuals from a local population that decide to take up arms. There's nothing limiting the "day job" or profession they chose outside of the militia.

The Gaas are probably doing it because of the lack of targets (lack of active pvp calmil USTZ)...lets not get into why there is such a lack of pilots...but honestly the most active gal pvp pilots were pie long before this, just as the most active pvp cal pilots were pirate...as snake said, if all you do in this game is pew pew...well you pew pew whatever juicy target presents itself...

It is a broad classification of players who will shoot ships in low sec with little care about sec status.

It's a convention, why get all bent out of shape over it?

I think most people are in FW because they want killmails and good-fights; shooting neutrals provides both of those as readily as shooting WTs.

I'm not saying people don't do risk going pie. I'm just saying more people are doing it to due to lack of WTs.

FW is like the Egg McMuffin of small gang pvp in EVE It just needs more love :)

Could people please stop referring to pirates as pies?

People in Militia calling Pirates pies is nothing that came from just Militia. It's just a short way to say that targets are red flashy and you can attack them on a gate. In null sec there is no need to mention the differences because there is no gate guns nor does it matter as any non blues are usually targets.

It makes no sense to type out "red flashys" or "pirates" when you can do the same with just 4 letters. Not to mention there are many "pirates" whom aren't red flashy and stay **** yellow. However you know they will go GCC if the right targets shows up for them.


Myself I used to be full pie and red flashy but it's really a inconvenience when you are in mixed gangs or even soloing, so now I try to stay **** yellow. These days I just pirate in Gallente space or in Caldari space but only if the suspects look suspicious, as then I must assume they are working with the Gallente and I must inspect their ship fittings and cargo bay.
