Something for Formula One fans.

This year there'll be so many World Champions on the grid, there's bound to be dramas all the way to the end of the season, possibly involving the stewards and number 2, below, like it or not. At least Martin Brundle won't be tripping over them for the BBC this year, which is a great comfort.

So. Who will win? -who will have the motivation to scoop up the title this year? Place your bets -why do you think your choice will prevail from the following list?

Candidates:

1. The Ice Cream Man -Lotus Renault
2. Lewis Hamilton - McLaren Mercedes
3. Fernando Alonso - The team one either loves or hates. Red cars, probably.
4. Seb Vettel - Red Bull Racing
5. Schumacher M. - Mercedes
6. Jenson Button - McLaren Mercedes

Outsiders?:

Flippy Massa - Red Car
Mark Webber - Red Bull Racing
Nico Rosberg - Mercedes

No way:

Rubinho Barichello - none.

With only a few weeks to go before kick-off, post your predictions for 2012 champion!

Button's been my favorite ever since he drove a crappy Honda around, so he gets my support. Big smile

Still have my BAR Lucky Strike jacket, brings back fond, terrible memories.

F1 has been boring as hell, as far as I'm concerned, so I can't really follow it any longer. Plus it's no fun watching it on US television where David Hobbs spends half the race spit-polishing 'supernatural' Lewis Hamilton's coinpurse. It's disgusting.

I have not watched F1 for years, I got bored of it. Now I watch DTM, Grand Touring (Le Mans style) and the Paris Dakar. I will watch the first few races, I want to see how well Sky Sports present it. No adds, all the qualifying and the interactive stuff sounds great.

as long as its a british 1-2-3 i dont really mind ...but i hope sutil does well this year . my mate works in the pits for force india ... and has allways said that if it wasnt for the crappy car he was given he would have finished a lot higher up than he did .but like everything else ...time will tell .

Sutil receives a large fine and suspended sentence and the FIA barely made a squeak the whole time about disrepute -no superlicence loss etc. Hulkenberg replaces him though at Force India.

My bet is on Lewis -if we're talking motivation, then being beaten for once by a team-mate will have irked him no end.

Alonso, maybe. He's arguably the best all-rounder of the pack whether you're a confirmed Tofosi or not -the man has undeniable talent.

Sebastien Vettel mustn't be discounted because Newey is on a roll.
