Jita and Amarr are 184 lightyears apart. A freighter leaves Jita traveling towards Amarr, and another freighter leaves Amarr at the same time, traveling towards Jita. The freighter leaving Jita averages 10 lightyears per hour more than the other, and they meet after 1 hour 36 minutes. What are the average speeds of the freighters?

Autopilot slow. They both get smartbombed at various gates.

There's a train 1 mile long travelling at 60 miles per hour and it enters a tunnel that is 1 mile long.

How long till the train exists the tunnel?

CCP was nice enough to give us a calculator in-game. In the spirit of EVE, they have given you the tools to figure out such problems for yourself. :)

Is that a nautical mile or a land mile?

Trick question, all pilots start with Jita being a blocked site, the freighter from Amarr never arrives.

Where do the freighter collide and kill everyone onboard?

184 ----- meet at time 1h 36m --- a is traveling at 10 lyh faster than b or 2y + 10

D = R x T

D= 184 light years

R= D/T

T = 1 h 36 m

What do we have? Distance, and time.

184/ 1.67 hrs = 110.18 light years an hour

110.18 light years an hour is the rate of the two combined

110.18 = 2y +10

100.18 = 2y <---- rounding it down for simplicity

100 = 2y

50 = y

a = 50, b = 60 (remember one is going 10 light years per hour faster than the other)

(50 + 60)/ 2 = 55

Someone please confirm or point out error in logic. I'm willing to bet that no one is going to lol.

There's a 12ft long car and a 6ft long garage with a door on each end. How fast does the car need to be going (relative to the garage) to fit inside with both doors closed, and does the car shrink or the garage stretch?

Incorrect. You have an error in logic. 1h 36m = 96m = 1.6hr. You used 1.67hrs.

Average speed is (52.5 + 62.5) / 2 = 57.5 ly/hr. The meet after Freighter1 travels 84ly and Freighter2 travels 100ly.
