Just because i see things in a differant viewpoint does not make me paranoid it makes me a bit obsolete in the majorities views.

Isn't just playing Eve pretty much role-playing? Unless 'space pirate thug' is an actual career possibility in the real world, then by definition, you're role playing. Likewise, I'm role-playing when I play NHL on the Xbox, as (shockingly enough) I'm not an actual NHL player.

You don't actually need to role play along with the canon storyline of Eve to role play. The human element of any MMO quickly outshines even the most fantastic made up story line.

Eve has it's epic thefts, it's cloak and dagger spy stories, late night backdoor dealings....just the other week my fleet got hammered by another group, then we chatted and ended up fleeting WITH those guys and roaming together.

To me, THAT is RP too. The backdrop of the game and it's mechanics were what made those real interactions possible and unique.

Other elements of RP are common in Eve, without faking bad Shakespearean accents in chat. For example the honoring of 1v1 fights. A 'frig fry' in Anamake has a bunch of chest-thumping bravado as well as courteous bows to victors of fair duels.

I roleplay sometimes, except in corp chat and market hub local.

Mostly when I'm the only one of my corp on doing stuff alone.

I am an ex-slave Minmatar pod pilot who lives off the high-paying Amar Navy while I kill my fellow rebellious kin. I also enjoy pod=lit walks in the plasma planet light and long slow warps in my Fenrir.
