Does anyone have a good video or resource on how to properly set an orbit and use the slingshot maneuver? I've been trying to do both while flying frigs and cruisers but I just can't seem to nail down the techniques.

To break out of someones orbit youll wanna fly in a straight line and when the person orbiting you is travelling roughly in the same direction as you, ideally movong faster than you, you make a 180 degree turn (by swinging your camera around and double clicking in space behind your ship.) If the two of you are moving at a decent speed and you are more agile than they are you can make the 180 and get up to speed before they can swing around and sometimes gain some distance on them. If youre in anything sluggish or are webbed youll find its extremely difficult to break out unless theyre orbiting at the edge of scram/web range. Breaking out of somones orbit when theyre kiting at the edge of long point range is quite a bit easier as you can deactivate your mwd, do the turn right as your mwd shuts off, then re-activate it when you get turned around. Your agility goes to **** with a prop mod on so if you can shut it off for a sec to do the turn youll slow down/turn/speed up much faster than they do.

I used to have a clever sig but I lost it.
