I can't really add to the excellent advice already given, except to say did you remember to switch your hardeners on? It's really easy to forget to put them back on after a jump, I've done it myself a couple of times. It's no fun watching the booster spin around and the cap charges going down and wondering why the hell your tank is collapsing.

Veryez speaks the truth.

Another thing you should try to do is; when you warp into a mission you don't know, wait with pulling aggro until you see who aggro's you first.

Also know that launching drones in some missions pull aggro from the whole room.

Cheers!

What have I become?

As a fairly new mission runner on this character I have come up with a couple "tricks" that make things easier for me. IF nothing in the room aggros on initial warp in then follow the guides for what to shoot first. Usually you are forced to deal with a first pocket of stuff that just opens up on you ASAP.

It seems a lot of people suggest killing the Frigs first. This works really well for the peace of mind. Where I differ is what I take down next. I dump as many BC's and cruiser hulls as I can as quickly as I can. BC's more than cruisers seem to pour out 70-80% of Battleship DPS and are FAR easier to squash. I run a Megathron, so not sure how this will help you but this is my general setup.

I kick out 4 sentries as soon as I land and don't have a ton of initial aggro. The sentrys and my railguns open up on all the frigs I can find without popping triggers. This gives me my out if need be. I immediately swap to popping every BC I can get locked up. With the sentries this actually goes pretty fast also. Once things get inside my optimal I split the rails and sentries. I keep popping cruisers etc with the rails, and swap the sentries on to Battleships. If its Angels, the sentries get scooped and a flight of Hob II's go out to assist my rails. Usually I am just left with the Battleships to burn down at the end. Once again the sentries come out and help me make this as quick as possible.

This setup works for me, so your mileage may very. A friend flys a Navy Megathron and he doesn't even bother with the frigs till last. Once the dps is to a manageable level being scrammed really doesn't matter. He also has the luxury of a full flight of sentries and a flight of Hammer II's to clean up any small stuff once the Battleships are down.
