So I log in today an see we have a new war dec... first reaction excitement Big smile

Click on the corp details an its 2 mans corp ugh! sick of these boring highsec deccers oh well. If he really wants to pay an arm an a leg to dec us to kill a bunch of noobs he can! (As IG is in an alliance with something like 10 decs goin already). Continuing to do research on my new wts I happen to notice these guys happened to dec just IG ...not the alliance were in! WTF Question

I convo the ceo an ask him how he managed to pull off this feat and he jokingly says 'Magic'.

The only way I could see how this works is that this guy had the vote in before we joined the alliance. I don't have any way of really testing this so my questions:
Is this legal?
How did he manage to pay <10 Mil to dec a corp/alliance that he should have paid closer to 1 Bil to dec?
Is this what happens when the vote is already in place before the target corp joins an alliance?

It's 50mil base to dec on an alliance.

Sooo, you joined a Dec Shield alliance to avoid a war dec, but that didnt work out?

First sentence contradicts the second one in my eyes.

I bet you and your pilots spend 99% of the time docked up an smacking in local as well.

A bunch of "noobs" can inflict damage on experienced pilots if FC'ed correctly, plus its good experience for your "noobs"

Get in frigs and have some fun. Prepare you for when its not a 2 man high sec dec IMHO.

Well, it seems more and more that these '2 man corps' turn into ten man corps or whatever just about the time you jump through a gate.

I have just noticed that IG is a 540 odd man corp and still you are whining about a 2 man dec.

Clarified the OP for y'all.

And, I don't think that they should be able to do that, though I'm not exactly an expert in such things. I would toss up a petition and see what a GM says about it.

Even if they had dec'd you before you joined (and I am guessing you must have just joined to even bring this up), the dec should transfer to the entire alliance, or at least that is my understanding; however, they would still just pay the 2 mil dec fee, since they had dec'd you, not the alliance. If they re-up the war after a week, I am assuming they will (or should) pay the alliance fee.

Now, if they dec'd your corp after you had joined an alliance...no idea on how they did that.

You would think that a corp that keeps joining and leaving alliances to get rid of war decs would know something about how the mechanic works and be able to figure it out on their own.

More evidence for the "CCP make it so there is a ban on joining alliances whilst war decs are active, or at least a 7 day stasis period"

That's this pilots 2 ISK worth anyhow.

We go after these types an they just dock up. When the experienced FC's log off these types go around killing our noobs hence the boring hs deccers

Read my first sentence... i love wars, pvp, and all that good stuff! I'm annoyed/confused how he managed to dec a single corp within an alliance
