The problem is, nobody gives a damn about the T3s that are not named "Tengu" because Tengu is The Ubermensch Ship of EVE. God forbid any of the other Tech 3s become as useful.

I recently picked up the Legion Skillbook set as a prize. But I have yet to find ANY positive comments about it. Should I quit before I begin injecting these? I am already heavily into Amarr skillsets, so I figured it would be best to go with the Legion.

But now... I'm not sure I should. Is there anything it does well, that would be worth the training time and ship cost?

Hmmmm.

It's not a bad t3 for certain things. Armor gang use, incurions, WH use. Just certain things like solo work pvp or all around pve... Not so much, but then again as stated before tengu over shadows most t3's. As rather than all the tengu's subs leading to versatility... The cookie cutter template is best in 90% of all situations...and then swap out the nullifier for 0.0 work.

I see, that sounds a bit more promising. My fleets are Armor Tank based, plus we do run into WH action... Maybe it will work out.

EDIT: I recognize that the Tengu is very good. I just really dislike Missiles, and didn't want to retrain for Hybrids. I'm a lazor/Armor man!

My suggestions again: merge cov and drone sub, new laser sub (WITH DRONES and rof)

My Proteus thinks - Legion should not be the best drone T3 boat out there :p. Mind you, you *could* do the same thing for the proteus at least in part... but that would be ...

*nomnom* juicy!

The idea behind merging the drone subsystem and covops subsystem is to make it a Curselike.

With the Protie, you can get almost 700 DPS with Hammers and Neutrons with the drone sub. For the Drone Legion, fit ******** Artillery. You'll do better. Also, the Drone Proteus has the tank of "What."

I mean, hell, I'm in a Legion and post blaster buff, that Protie looks delicious.

So, yes, if you have the capability to, fly a Legion! You won't regret it.

I may be misunderstanding your post, are you using an Artillery Legion fit with the Drone Sub? Would you mind posting it if you find the time? The number of fits possible for these T3s are like... Multicolored Legos!

The **** is this double post.

Here's the arty vs laser Legion. Level V for simplicity's sake, no implants. As a side note, I fit all of my ships with Tech2 as a "Benchmark." Obviously Shinies are better. Both set ups are in exploration set ups.

[Legion, Arty Drones]

Gyrostabilizer II

Legion Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer
Legion Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir
Legion Offensive - Drone Synthesis Projector
Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

Hammerhead II x5
Valkyrie II x5
Hobgoblin II x5
Warrior II x5

Some numbers:
401 DPS, 163 DPS from Guns with Hammerheads.
34,329 EHP Omni, 291 DPS tank for 8 minutes. Can kite pretty hard.

Legion Offensive - Drone Synthesis Projector
Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

Hammerhead II x5
Valkyrie II x5
Hobgoblin II x5
Warrior II x5

The numbers:
Same EHP.
214 DPS from guns/451 DPS with Hammerheads. A marginal improvement, if locked into EM/Thermal vs Whatever You Need.
The Capacitor is Hahahilarious. If everything is running, it'll run out in three minutes, which means the tank is definitely less.

I'd take the Arty Legion any day of the week, simply because of the fact that selectable damage type makes it much more efficent. The laser legion beats it out in Amarr Space but that's about it. Anywhere else, reach for the 720s.

Excellent! Thanks for doing that! I have mainly Pulses trained but I think I may take a projectile detour now :P

Finally some positive opinions of the Legion.

I Appreciate it.

Ham legions I hear are pretty good. Also I think zealots are close in performance v. a similar role legion...and cheaper. The other races Hacs dont perform quite as well or just don't have the fitting flexibility as their t3 counter parts.
