It's a pretty transparent scam, but people fall for it, like every scam. I happened to click on one of the contracts in a particular scammers history and noticed something curious - some of the modules are listed as "Fitted", despite the obvious lack of a ship. Any idea what's going on here?

I clicked the link thinking I'd be able to figure out what was going on in that contract, but I don't have a clue. Without the "Fitted" tags it would just be list of crap with no Hulk to accompany them....

This is a good example of why I use the contracts system only when absolutely necessary.

Here's my interpretation: items are either "assembled" or "packaged". At some point the item gets fitted to a ship and then removed: it's now "assembled", which shows up on the contract as "fitted".

I am of course posting from work, so can't verify this speculation. You can test this yourself though: grab a stack of something (e.g.: warp disruptors), fit one or two to a ship, then pull them off the ship. Now select all those items and contract them to your alt or a friend and check out the contract details.

Except that doesn't explain the "fitted" cargo rig. You can't un-fit one of those.

Looks like a job for CCP to fix their effing code again.
