A suggestion for the CSM elections- Nullsec trolls welcome

My suggestion is simply this. Have all manifestos stickied in General discussion so that we can see exactly how many candidates there are and what they are proposing. They are reviewed by CCP so that they are not inane/trolling and posted.

The Mittani is the CSM chairman, but i have never seen his manifesto and i have no idea what he stands for.

Second.

If you posted them all in General Discussion it would give highsec/lowsec people a greater chance to be elected as their message would be heard by far more people. At the moment the nullsecers dominate CSM membership because they have access to the block votes.

Third

We should have a CSM representative for highsec. lowsec and nullsec

Each sec has its own style of play. its has its positives and its negatives which should be addressed separately and this cannot happen in a CSM dominated by nullsecers who are by a large only interested in nullsec.

Your views and nullsec trolls are very much welcome here.

I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion.

OK, I'm running for highsec CSM and my friends in null are going to vote for me with their alts. How would you stop this?

CCP has been doing a great job moderating the general discussion that said. I dont see how those things wont be posted automatically by players in general when the CSM election really takes off.

So many things leak into general it will be like they are stickied, unless busy CCP mods keep them out or so.

…or better yet, have them posted in the correct forum, where you will already find this information.

I think pretty much all parties agree that the bulk of the EVE population avoid or ignore the firums because they are much, much smarter than we are. That means the election threads will mostly go unread. You need a different approach. There were some good ideas and tools last year. However, once again you had to already know they were there to find them. That brings us back to the CSM being a shadow organization hidden in the forums read only by a minority of players.

The election information, no matter how pointless it actually is, must be moved off the forum and into a different format. I know facebook was tried last year with a little success. I don't think anyone was actually assigned to keep it going though so it faded. There were a few sites dedicatd to just the election, but there wasn't a direct link between the in-game experience, the forums and any 3rd party sites. That's a huge mistake. I understand that CCP is a bit standoff-ish to 3rd party sites, but they really need to start embracing them. They tend to offer very good services that only help CCP's product(s).

I agree with all of this and its true that hardly anyone i know looks at this forum and i mainly come here to troll.

Edit. never answer anything Tippia has to say as he is a complete tard who never makes any sense and just posts for the sake of posting.

Not enough since I'm sure most players blaze right past that without a glance. Its actually a pretty tough problem that would probably require a lot of approaches to getting the word out.

Then more people can experience the the disappointment in EVE's meta-game along side that which they already experience in-game.

Really, google? Too hard? Or are you just downright lazy waiting for others to spoonfeed you? At the moment, Mittani even has his own thread on Jita Park explaining his views.

Excellent CSM6 roundup: http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/03/18/massivelys-eve-online-csm-6-candidate-roundup-p1/

In particular, Mittani's campaign thread: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1473855

There were quite a few roundups at the time, including the somewhat handy comparison tool by Dierdra Vaal. They will pop out again when the campaign period is due.

I am still not sure about this.
As much as I would like to have a high sec representative in the CSM, there is still one technical problem: The CSM is a council, they do not decide for CCP, they just counsel them. As nice as it would be to have everybody represented in the CSM, it is of equal importance to have a unified CSM that can have a strong, unified voice, instead of constantly fighting each other.

There are many candidates here with a lot of good ideas that disqualify themselves for the job because of their irrational hate for GSF. Love them or hate them, but you WILL have to work with them, because at least 2 of them WILL be in the next CSM. People that keep declaring here how they would fight The Mittani once elected would be detrimental to our cause, because we need diplomats, not berserkers.

Well, I am just going to wait and see who will run as the highsec-representative and decide then if I give my vote to the good guys or the evil.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Actually, yes. It must be spoon-fed.

I'm glad the comparison tool will be back. I won't see it since my subs run out in less than 2 weeks. Who logs in anymore? P

So you agree with me, then, seeing as how you can't think of anything even remotely resembling a counterpoint and instead go straight for the ad hominem.

Anyway, the point remains: filling up GD with a bunch of pointless threads when there already is an entire subforum dedicated for those threads sounds rather counter-productive. Also, if you want representatives for [whatever section of space], just vote them in — that's what the election is for, after all.

I must say that you have missed the point with a certain level of skill that I must salute you! o7

The point is getting people informed enough to actually vote! How many CSM elections do you remember where 2 weeks after the election people are still making threads in GD asking when the elections start? Every year maybe? Lets fix that. Mkay?

My side point is that the effort will fail due to the mechanics of the election and the game. The large alliances have already won it again since they alone have the only system capable of exploiting the election process. Its fun to try though.

Pavel this is the reason you dont answer a Tippia thread. notice the two likes. thats two alts. notice how they make no sense. Its just pointless to even acknowledge their existance.

Even if the large alliances won, CCP would still ask them about other aspects of the game and what the players are doing. So they would have to talk to you anyhow or so, otherwise CCP might be very dissapointed, and somehow alot of CSM are americans, americans flying to visit dissapointed foreigners has never gone so well before for us.

Americans flying anywhere are a dissappoint.

They think they are Wright all the time when in fact they could be Wong or even Stuttegartenfiedlerhousen.

First off, Americans running anything = unjust and corrupt. Just asying. As an American. Also, as an American I can say with no uncertainty that we never let a lack of information or experience ever stop us from making horrible decisions. We also have the added bonus of not even recognizing that we have failed and just declare victory anyway. Calling a death spiral and awesome use of gravity for years now.

Second, CCp can ask them about other areas of the game, but they aren't playing in those areas so what feedback could they possibly have? You can ask me about building rockets, but I'll just have to lie about it.
