Invulnerability Timers When Coming Out of Warp

Hey guys!

Not alot of people are familiar with this, but if you are a logistics pilot or a triage carrier pilot, you may have encountered a strange phenomenon. When a ship leaves warp and lands on grid, it receives a brief invulnerability timer when landing. I have experienced this in combat when the ship has left the warp phase and is bleeding off its residual velocity of the warp. Despite now having a number on the speedometer instead of the "WARPING" word, the ship remains untargetable by friendly logistics or hostiles for a brief period of maybe 10 seconds (roughly). This state is not unlike the undock invul timers, and presumably so that you can load grid. Like the station timer, the state can be broken early buy a number of actions, say manual autopiloting, or activating a module. Or at least I think it works like this.

I have asked around about this, and so far the only coherent answer is that it is simply my client syncing with the server as to what is on grid. Needless to say, I am not satisfied, nor does it help me.

If anyone else has insights on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated.

TL, DR;
Me wan target ship when come out warp. Cannot target ship. Say "Target is invulnerable". Me klick harder. Mouse break.

That means it isn't out of warp yet. If you noticed when you warp in there is a brief period when you're still "landing" when you can't target anything. Basically it's a "chill out" period for both the people on grid and the people warping in, time in which they get to notice each other and decide on a course of action.

the same thing happens to capital ships when they use a cyno. you can not rep them or cap them up till they have literally moved their big fat as**** ...so i know what your talking about but its been like that for years and its not going to change.

Not really asking for a change. Rather, is there anything else significant about this state that would be useful information? Also do smartbombs damage targets in this state as well? They can hit you while you are in warp, that has been confirmed, but has anyone been able to smartbomb targets after they have downwarped?

I think that's how smartbomb camps work, so yes.

\o/ its Mfume.

There is a difference though. You can smartbomb people while they are in warp.

But can you smartbomb people when they have just landed?

Its also a pity we can't smartbomb gates and stations to get rid of those pesky drones.

4-4 undock would get truly stupid if that was allowed.
