Call me silly, but I prefer to keep things simple. Some dramatics are fine, but what happened here fit it's setting perfectly.

Ostentatious.

I should have liked to attend your grand affair, but I was busy transporting the 400,000 slaves you freed and committed to our care. You are a true hero of abolition, Ms. Vitalia. We are pondering the possibility of naming the new Matriculation Center the "Silas Vitalia Grand Abolition Freedom Center." What do you think of that as a name?

This has nothing to do with the thread.

And i 'freed' no one: I sold them to you, and you did what you wanted with your property. Welcome to the slave trade, dear!

My name is Theobar and I am a recent graduate of capsuleer school and a new pilot. I am a member of the Cresthill family. We are traditional and faithful Amarians. I am just now discovering the different means of communication among capsuleer pilots. The Summit Communication Channel was one such discovery and now today, I found this forum.

I decided to read the last page of the top story and have found something very disturbing. Perhaps I do not understand what is going on and someone can set me straight. As a son of one of the Cresthill Holders, I was taught that the sacred duty of the Holder was to shepherd the wayward children of New Eden to the loving arms of God and to salvation. We as a family have always lived that conviction to this very day. Those we hold are precious to God and our sacred charge is to bring all things to bear upon the task of leading them to God who seeks to reclaim them.

How is it that this Silas Vitalia has relinquished sacred hold upon 400,000 souls and given them into the hands of unbelieving and vile pagans? I pray this is not true. What true citizen of the Empire would dream of doing such a thing? I have run across these Disciples of Ston upon the Summit and they are enemies of God and of the Empire. To give them one soul is to give that soul to hell itself. These wicked "Disciples" as they call themselves, rip these wayward ones from the only chance they have for redemption. No faithful person would willingly give 400,000 lost souls into the hands of these barbarians.

I do not know the whole story of what this is about, but it sounds wrong.

I apologize for being off topic, but again, I am new and I was struck by what I saw just on the last page of this topic. Perhaps fellow faithful Amarians could help me understand.

A heartfelt and warm thank-you to all the guests in attendance. By my count we had roughly 60 capsuleers present in the Estate during the party.

Obviously there are a great many questions, and I will deem to discuss a few things in short order. I'll have a new corporation up and running shotrly, and we can direct comments/wardecs appropriately at that time.

The slaves? The are property. They can be bought or sold, or given away. Who cares? They are not what is significant here. What is important and unforgivable is that a trusted friend and someone whom I regarded as a staunch loyalist has not only fallen from grace but has joined our most despicable enemy.

Be truthful now Silas, you and I both know that there was no exchange of ISK. You gave these 400,000 slaves to the Disciples of Ston knowing well who we are and what we do. Now you just need the courage, "dear," to face the truth. The fresh faced Amarrian is right. Perhaps now is a good time to come out of the closet and declare your opposition to slavery out in the open. No faithful Amarian would simply let 400,000 slaves go as you did. I think you hate slavery just as much as we do. Just be brave enough to say so.

Who said anything about ISK, you mental midget? I exhanged goods for a service, otherwise known as a transaction. I sold you 400,000 slaves, and you paid with shutting your gaping hole of a mouth for two weeks, much to the general pleasure of the IGS community, I might add.

And I'm no faithful Amarrian.

Now, see yourself elsewhere, I won't respond to you again in this thread.

If the stories that I've heard are true, then at least we can now do away with the pretense that Silas Vitalia was ever loyal to anyone but herself.

Still, I'm sure that she'll be every bit as effective in supporting her "new" cause as she was in supporting her old one (not much at all).

Oh Rodj you wound me! No more late-night intimate conversations and candle-lit dinners?

I'll remember that you said.

Although unfortunately I'm not sure PIE is the best judge of 'effectiveness' considering your work lately is around the level of glorified waste disposal technicians clearing out endless heaps of little cruisers and frigates in the border zones. *yawn* I'm sure the Empire is grateful for your trash collection. Even common laborers such as yourselves deserve some credit now and then, maybe they'll throw you a parade.

The syntax, the grammar, the "style" - all strangely familiar.

It's almost as though someone wrote it for you.

No, but great minds do think alike.

That being said while I am honored and thankful for the assistance and blessings of the Illustrious yesterday, we do walk different paths. You'll see.

Perhaps I'm glad that I couldn't find a nice pair of evening shoes amongst the 500 or so I already own.

It seems it prevented me from attending what I've been told in private was a "complete debacle".
