Advertisements in EVE

In a game filled with corporations, player services, a CSM that needs player votes, and a bunch of smack talking nerds, we are missing something critical to our game experience…

Advertisements.

Isn't it slightly dumb when a corp that pushes billions of isk has to resort to getting their message out by renaming a can?

Of course the majority of Eve doesn't vote for the CSM when our contact with these candidates is largely limited to the forums.
(some people just hate forums?)

With all the talk of WiS and custom paint slots, doesn't it seem that we, the player base want to somehow express ourselves creatively?

Have you ever created an event and were dissatisfied with the turn out?

Wouldn't it be a great ISK sink?

Player owned Billboards. Eve mail flyers (complete the picture with a spam box), advertisements on the captains quarter's screen (let's make this a pop up window available in ship as well)?

There needs to be a way to get player created content to the masses to make eve a more interesting and dynamic universe.

We need an effective in-game way to advertise.

From a RP perspective it makes a lot of sense that we would be flooded with advertisements (much as in RL) in a universe that bows to the almighty ISK.

Thoughts?

Although utilizing every advertisement possibility is encouraged, I highly doubt that an ad in Eon will reach the majority of Eve Online players.

Still, thanks for sharing the link!

Sod ISK sink. I want to be able to anchor billboards.

Granted, you'd have to have the file come from somewhere, and that would clog up a lot of server time. And you'd have idiots anchoring porn around the jita gates or undocks.

Economic PVP

Yeah these issues would be problematic, and may be a couple of the main reasons we have not been allowed to become creatively unfettered in our sandbox.

I get enough spam from mail, email, texts, phone calls.

I do not want spam sent to me in a video game...

I do not want 100% of said spam be nothing but Goonswarm alt scams...

Hmm that EON thing is cool...

Login screen adds I'd pay royally for that indeed.

Large volumes of highly researched Ammo, drones, charges and ship bpo's. Biggest BPO store in EVE! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=445524#post445524
