Note for newbie bystanders; This is what happens when you fly an untanked, paper-hulled Tech 1 hauler that is loaded with more cargo (in ISK value) than it should be. Granted, this is bit of an extreme case - people rarely bother with a drop this small - but technically it was "worth popping" as the ship required to instakill it was so cheap.

Warp to zero doesn't matter. You can be popped in the time it takes for you to align out after a jump.

But all that is just blah-blah and not really the key error.

The key error would be "Hey, I put all my eggs in a single basket". Never do that. It is rare to get suicide ganked but if you do and your ship contains a large part of your ingame wealth, it can sting. Don't be stupid and don't let that happen.

No. They accuse the victims of wanting more security than they already have, which is already more than the security the gankers have. They also accuse the victims of being silly victims, even though they have plenty of ways to ensure they aren't, all of which would yield the same increased security the victims clamour for.

Gankers don't collect insurance anymore. New feature. So explain to me how it is tilting in the ganker's direction?

I don't claim 'victims' want security.. I claim some want immunity. Complete immunity from anything happening to them that they do not wish. This is not the game for them, plain and simple. They should leave before their 'fix' ruins the game that is EVE.

I haul stuff around all the time.. without issue, yet. I take the pre-caution that are avialable to me to do so. Hell I've had a mammoth hit twice, both by tempests long ago. Failed.. cause I'm not a dumb ass that is complied not to use a DCU and MUST MAX CARGOHOLDS WITH EXPANDERS cause its a hauler.

'Victims' have enough security as is. Concord.. scouting.. map statistics info.. better ships.. orca hangar (ontop of 230k+ ehp possibility). Hell use half a brain and make a cargocane if transporting a small amount of expensive ****. It isn't complicated to safely navigate highsec with ease. And when you do get popped.. ganker doesn't get insurance, good items might have went boom, sec hit, and 'victim' now has kill rights to unleash within 30 days at a time pleasing to them. Don't blame the ganker, me, or the game for the 'victim' not taking the intiative to use the KR at the best time for them and scout their prey.. you know, much like a good ganker does to scout out what he/she is going to blow to maximize profits.

Lot of people really need to blame themselves. Sure it's easier and guilt free to blame the ganker.. keep in mind the ganker picked you for a reason over someone else. Can't fix stupid.. keep begging CCP tho, maybe some day they can.

EDIT : You should probably recognize the reality of this VIDEO GAME and seek help off the computer if you can't handle it

One time I did something really stupid, auto pilot an interceptor with +300 million worth of sleeper salvage and of course I got popped before I reach Jita. I was pissed for a about an hour, jumped in my Legion and went off to incursion, made it all back in 3 hours. Lesson learned.

…that would be boring and not nearly as lucrative since the targets are so few and far between. Getting killed isn't really a factor since they automatically get killed if they do it in highsec.

Sure I have. I survived each time. The problem is rather that it's such a rare occurrence — highsec should be riskier than that.

actually, gankers are in high-sec because of security other people THINK they are getting. cheap fun is still fun, even if it's cheap, too.
