ISSUE 1:
Eve Voice is badly broken. It simply does not work with USB microphones. When you try to broadcast you just get a wall of horrible static.

ISSUE 2:
Shortcut keys refer to keys that simply don't exist. It looks like they're mapping to windows keyboard definitions. For example, F13 thinks it's called "Print Screen" and F15 says it's mapping to "Favorites". Furthermore, keys F16 to F19 don't appear to work at all any more, which is a shame given they're fairly standard issue on most mac keyboards. This is a sad regression.

Mac Pro, ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB, 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 6 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM,
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)

No Step by step guide needed, both issues are apparent without any special setup.

These issues do not appear to be specific to any particular machine/OS etc. as they are the same on the machine quoted above, my macbook and imac.

To CCP Spitfire & CCP Phantom

I see that despite opening three prior "EVE Online: Crucible 1.0.X Macintosh Issues and FEEDBACK" threads, you have not participated in, responded to or acknowledged any issues brought up in those threads.

I have just posted feedback and would like a response.

There is a serious lack of communication going on in the Macintosh forum. I urge CCP to get on top of it and start to progress the Mac client more effectively.

Issue #1

Description of the problem, more verbal the better:

Some mission cosmetic stations render in bright red (think pure R in RGB) I believe they are minmatar/amarr stations specifically although they are hard to discern. Guessing a specific shader is putting Red values much higher.

Step by step guide to what causes the issue
any mission that uses the glitched stations in question will reproduce this

Step by step guide to any workaround that has resolved the issue for you

No workaround found, i just ignore, it is not game breaking for me.

Issue #2

Issue #3

Description of the problem, more verbal the better:

Acceleration gates on every mission that has one, the blue light effects do not render correctly, pixilated and blurred. Wondering if they are not filtered correctly :S

Aside from the above graphical glitches, and the overall FPS slow downs the transgaming wrapper has, i have had no stability issues. Keep up the great work, i value the time you take to resolve the mac issues. I look forward to hearing progress on them. I can provide more technical detail if you request.

I would also like to see more performance options for the mac client to allow more *fine tuning* of performance. Would like to see a slider or multiple options for the *resource cache* option in graphics. so that i can choose to cache eve to the majority of my ram while playing. eve seems to stop caching @ 4gb of memory, would like to exceed this to maximize performance.

Issue #4

Description of the problem, more verbal the better:

Client hangs/stuters/freezes for 1-2 seconds (think hiccup) on switching chat channels (including system channels) or when typing in active/large channel.

other players have reported this issue in this forum thread

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=46673&find=unread

Also seems to happen on agent mission story/flavour text in local chat aswell

Hardware info (Mac model, GPU, CPU, RAM etc.)
2010 15 inch macbook pro, i5 @ 2.4 GHZ, 8GB 1066 DDR, Nvidia 330M (latest apple drivers) [using 290.36 in bootcamp does not cause issue)

OS version/Game Settings
10.6.8 snow leopard
Shadows low
Shader Medium
Texture size Medium
HDR Off
Depth Effects Off
Post Processing Off

Step by step guide to what causes the issue

im guessing its a SYN/ACK network issue, cannot deduce whether its client or server side. That or a chat network call taking priority on local cores/threads/process/processor which causes the hang up for 1-2 seconds until the network response is made. Eve client on windows 7 on same machine, on same network, going through the same systems (in the same order) [specifically rens-->frarn does not produce the same effect. Could be wrapper causes an unneeded wait. would suggest looking at network portion of transgaming wrapper.

Step by step guide to any workaround that has resolved the issue for you

Playing in windows on same machine works around issue, however i choose to play mac client and ignore

The workaround to the red mission structures is to turn the shader to low.

Its annoying that alot of our subscription money goes to making eve beautiful, then we Mac users do not get to see it because graphics performance is so poor.

Issue#4 above: A short client freeze also happens when viewing market details. Example: Go to Jita and look at the market for PLEX or veldspar. Sure at Jita it takes awhile to do anything with the market, but that should not lock up the client.

As described previously: Constant Freezes

Mac Mini 2011, w/ discrete GPU, 8GB RAM, 10.7.2.

Repros every time within 10-15 min of undocking. Undock from Jita 4-4 and just orbit around for best results.

It affects any application. When you have those issues, open quicktime and try to record yourself and there you have it.

still having the same issue as I've been having since crucible went live, eve keeps freezing up on me after about 5-10 min of doing anything. this is getting really annoying since this makes eve TOTALLY unplayable.

using a mac pro with the following hardware and os

dual 2,0Ghz Xeon
8Gb of ram

I had the same problem in November/December it stopped, but now it started again.

Client freeze within minutes of loggin on regardless of what I do. In space, in station even when doing nothing at all.

#Issue: Salvager sound loops endless and never stops.

Doesn't happen always but at least once per mission. The salvage sound keeps looping even when the salvage process in done. It never stops, even stays after wrapping and docking.

#Workaround: Switch sound off/on in setting panel sometimes (not always) stops the endless loop.

Expected behavior: Salvage sound should be quite when the salvager is not active.

Use Utilities/Audio-Midi-Setup and change format to: 44100 Hz for your USB-Mic. It's set to 48kHz by default but not all USB-Mics can handle that, most cheaper USB-Mics can't.

I keep running the eve online client but every 30 to 40 minutes my screen freezes up. Then the game out of no where just logs off.
I don't know if you have been getting this problem but it really sucks. The screen doesn't freeze up it just doesn't let me play with the interface. For example if i want to second click something it won't let me. Or target a ship etc.

Nope. I'm using my mic on skype without an issue. I can use it on teamspeak without an issue. you don't think I'd test it other applications?

Mic is not set to 48khz (and wasn't by default). It's a logitech cam/mic combo. Used to work fine on eve and no longer does. Also tested with another logitech standalone USB mic.

Furthermore, both these mics work with other audio applications just fine and I've tested them on a PowerMac, MacMini and a PowerBook. Only eve fails, every other combination is fine. I'm getting the idea that it's something to do with eve (!!!).

Eve mac client is total crap, buggy - crashes all the time, beyond usable. AFAIK CCP should let go entire mac client team because they are clearly not doing their job.

And yes, im mad. I just lost entire fleet to buggy client, and honestly - you can stop fixing it, its too late.

And there are no words to describe the shityness of mac client.

So read this - mac devs. YOU ARE DOING A TERRIBLE JOB!

Ongoing issue since Incursion: stuttering

Most notable running incursions and missions - once I am targeted by an entire room, the game begins stuttering. By this I mean runs for (say) half a second, then freezes briefly, then runs, then freezes. Runs smoothly during the run phases, but the freezes are annoying, especially since it will ignore mouse clicks to activate modules and the like.

MacBook Pro 17" (2009 model), using Nvidia 9600M GT. 8 Gb RAM (though problem was present with 4Gb also).

Eve ran very smoothly under Tyrannis, but has been getting worse since then.

Aren't Caldari supposed to have a large signature?
