i am at my wits end here trying to get eve running on my new pc i have installed windows 7 64 bit OS and cannot even get eve to download let alone install all i get is Extraction failed 3 . then i clicked the link to manually download and i get exactly the same thing i have followed many instructions from other forum posts and spent many hours trying to find a solution basically all i have left is to reinstall windows and i dont see how that could even help. i have now downloaded the manual install three times and could not get it to work . where did the bit torrent download go ?? if someone could plz offer some advice or link me somewhere to download to client that is not from eve gate it would be appreciated .

ok i may have fixed the problem by downloading an older version of eve from fileplanet

http://www.fileplanet.com/96415/0/0/0/1/section/Game_Clients

4 hours on primary dl no idea how much updating i will need to do. what i wonder is why ccp cannot handle thier own content delivery and why i have to settle for 200-300kbps when i download from everywhere else at speeds of 500-1500kbps it just doesnt add up

CCP please get better content delivery !!!!!

And furthermore i hope they can address this issue that quite a few people seem to be having with installing in windows 7 64 bit with a clean install i have read quite a few posts of this type with no perceived solutions and tbh it looks bad when the developers cannot seem to address problems with people getting their content from a third party so they can pay for usage this may have deterred many new players who would not be able to login to the forum and ask for help

hi back as i said we after many hours of pulling out what little hair i have left i finaly fixed it for the laptop with win xp pro,
read above for the issue.

ok down load kept failing, then the manul dl would come back with a error 3 arcive failed.

so in the end i new it was a clean install, so i flashed the bios with the latest file.
re downloaded the 3 files from ccp the exe file and the 2 arcives put them all in the same folder and downloaded winzip.
then ran the exe and by jove it installed after 5 hours of download time, well then had to re download the ati video drivers and hes now playing ShockedLol

yeah i ended up getting it to work but im still a little annoyed that i could not get the main one to work its odd that fileplanet has better reliability than ccp's content provider and i hope they can adress this issue in due time so players do not have to mess around for hours on end getting the install. but i am just glad got it working \o/

I have had the same problem, and I cannot download updates, either. My workaround is to bring the computer to a fast food restaurant or to the office and download there, though I dread having to do that when I get my desktop tower up and running. For some reason, downloads and updates and responding to petitions (?!) are completely inaccessable through my ISP.

Not sure if this will help? As you are having problems downloading...

But I had to run as admin to get it to work on Windows 7 64 bit.

Since the last patch i need to run eve for patching as administrator (running on vista home premium)
didnt had this problem before ...
if a right-click and say "run as administrator" it patches all correct

maybe its the same problem you run into..
