Just to verify again what you've already tried, to make sure nothing obvious was missed:

  • You already checked that there is no ExeFile.exe Process running anymore on your computer?
  • You ran the repair tool as administrator?
  • You already cleared you cache and settings?
  • You turned off your Virus Scanner while the repair tool is working?

Sorry for all this stabbing at the dark but I can't do a lot from my end without being able to reproduce this issue myself, the more details you can give me the better and don't be shy to asks questions (you can send me EVEMails as well).

Tried all of the above, after a clean reinstall of the offline downloaded client.

Client starts up with the Apocrypha splash screen (!) and then stops with the manifest error and the recommendation to use the repair tool.

Repair tool runs successfull, no matter if I delete bin and cache or not. But client still will not start.

Vista 32, Avira Antivir. Any suggestions?

This may work for some of you who are getting the Bad Manifest Signature Timestamp error message, as well as those of you that are seeing splash screens from previous EVE expansions just before getting the previous error.

If you're on a different Operating System I'm sure it'll be a similar location, but on Vista please go to:

C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files

It seems like it's some sort of archive area for many of your programs. Deleting the CCP folder in this location -should- enable EVE to run normally; it worked for me immediately. There is a slight inconvenience I've listed below, but until someone finds and solves the problem without causing the side-effect listed below, I figure people would be fine with it seeing as they can actually login with no real damage done

TL;DR: you'll need to re-set up your graphic preferences, overview settings, channels and grouped chat tabs, along with other cached information that can be restored relatively fast

WARNING: This seems to remove certain stored local settings including account names on the login page, as well as resetting Tutorials/graphics settings, and even stored overview settings. However this is for Cache data only! You will NOT lose files in My Documents/EVE/overview.xml for example. Simply re-import your overview settings/whatever else, and I think this will be a worthwhile fix. I first noticed this side-effect as I logged in and realized Captain's Quarters came up instead of the legacy station-hangar view that I had set a long time ago. However, again, I think it's worth setting things up with a full once-over if it means we can run the client from now on.
