understanding assault ships?

Why? Looking at the changes to assault ships I am trying to figure out why CCP went with the MWD class bonus. Don't we already have a ship class for that? I think it is called an interceptor, it seems to me that we are trying to push the ship outside its intended role.

Suggestion AF should get a speed bonus to AB like 100-200% AND a resistance to webs like 50%

This would allow them to do what they are meant to do tank and shoot also ur would free up PG and CPU tit the same purpose and would keep them seperate from intys.

Thoughts?

A speed bonus was tried a while ago and it turned out to be horrendously OP if the numbers were high enough and useless if they weren't. I do agree however that the MWD bonus is silly and I'm still going to be fitting my AFs with ABs.

those who know anything about pvp are thrilled by the changes. AF's can now get in fast without getting shredded in the process, hold out for a little longer, and do more dps compared to before. what's there not to like or understand?

please refrain from creating these dumb threads until you've tried things out, and pvp'd for at least 1 year. AB bonus and web resists? are you ********?

tell me how a frigate-sized target with a frigate sized signature rad. going at 3+km/sec, increased resistances and firepower, and that even webs would have a hard time to pin down, be balanced?

also, tell me how such frigate would be kept separated from interceptors?

It depends on where you fly and who you fly with. Solo AF (or AF gang AFs) often don't fit a microwarp drive, so this change does little for those pilots. But these pilots were already fine, for the most part.

Heavy tackle fleet AFs almost always fit one though, for obvious reasons. This change greatly increases their survivability.
