The mission dialogues need re-writes bad. They need something more to have us wanting to read them, I'm not sure what - pictures, or some emotional expression from the agents, or resonance with other agents and comments from them. But at least players can help with the writing, and that should be a constant project.

They don't seem too bad, some are actually quite funny.

Chuck out the current mission system completely and replace with a somewhat intelligent random mission generator (enemy faction, number of pockets, special quirks (think Buzz Kill or Dread Pirate Scarlet), number/grouping/distance of hostiles, type of mission (just kill stuff/Kill ship/structure and pick up item/etc).

One can dream.

Missions could do with some work, not sure what the challenge is to CCP making it different. Even if they added a hundred missions that sucked, it would still add variations to the game.

(insert MMO rage that missions are justa way to make isk to rebuild and should not be part of the regular game play)

counter to rage: Yeah but something different would be nice, right now it is scripted to the point of being macro-able.

The missions don't need to be special item drops or easy farming, just different.

I could forget just by looking at the font. And really, changing dialogue won't cut it anymore, I think, not in this day and age. I don't know any other online game where the developers don't try and make missions involving, with sudden twists, food for thought etc. Because missions, factions and NPC are the "walls" of any sandbox, without which it's just a pile of SiO2. Once upon some time few can remember, perhaps in the 1980s, it was all right to send the player in an RPG killing rats, but then there came a hundred jokes about rat-killing, and jokes about jokes... RPGs have lost and gained a couple of letters and some servers since then, but they are still about a "you" in suggested circumstances. Keeping missions to go kill and pick-up-here-drop-off-there is just not any state of the art. Ugh

Two Words:
Fully Voiced.

Stories are pretty lolol, just needs some emotion... and make me look at the screen less often... sit in station... while getting briefed... looking around my room for my 1 minute every 20 minutes to keep my eyes from drying up and falling from their sockets.

Fully voiced missions aren't likely, I know... but imagine the experience guys. Imagine it. Click request mission...

Enter Voice of... Morgan Freeman... etc etc.

…click mute, click “don't ask me again”, click accept, because you've heard/seen it all before and it gets tiresome on the third go (and lowers your income).
